Re: RSG Confirmed to publish Dodonpachi Resurrection in Europe.

Post by spadgy »

Sadly no DDP:R copies were on sale at MCM Expo in london today as Rising Star Games had hoped, but it was great to see crowds gathered around the DDP:R demo pods on the show floor. The general public seemed really into it.

Me and JDE had to play the game on stage (well; I had to, and I roped JDE into it!) in front of about 100 people, while a guy from Rising Star was interviewed on stage by Gamespot (it was the Gamespot stage, and you may get to see our performance on Gamespot at some point!). In the end they started asking me questions while I was playing, about how the mechanics worked. Ever tried plying a Cave shmup in front of a largish crowd on a stage being filmed while talking into a microphone? I have, and I made a right tit of myself!

Big thanks to JDE for the support!

Also; which one of you was the mad bastard who asked if they could buy the entire DDP:R section of the RSG booth? That would be some collectible.

Finally - you lot better all keep an eye on RSG and MCM Expo at 11am GMT tomorrow (Sunday) for some news about their next plans that you're going to bloody well love!

Can't wait to hear about RSG's plans. If I had a favourite publisher it would be them. Looking forward to see some coverage of Resurrection, too. I probably won't pick it up day one (already have the JP version) but I intend to do my bit to make the leaderboards look less barren.

I'm guessing Ketsui...
Don't see any other reason for Ketsuipachi not being available to PAL unless CAVE and RSG want to release regular Ketsui first.
Maybe they'll do the same as Treasure did with "Ikaruga-chaining" in Silvergun. That is; Ketsuipachi gets unlocked if you buy Ketsui.

It better be something like that because i don't see how they could ignore the (relatively) high demand for ketsuipachi.

Knowing Spadgy's previous word, I'm confident that what he says we'll love to know about, we'll love to know about. For serious.

But I suspect I'll be part of the minority who doesn't if it ends up being Deathsmiles IIX. :P

Quick question: does the RSG DFK release have the goofy English radio operator voice the iPhone version has?

I honestly doubt Ketsui (I would love some Ketsuipachi news though); Akai Katana is more likely.

I also hope the original operator's voice is retained in the port. I am in love with that woman and her voice.

Release is getting closer...so excited~

Practically speaking Akai Katana is likely, especially considering Cave were really keen on getting the 360 port out in Japan it'd make sense that they'd get Rising Star to publish it in PAL in a similarly soon fashion.

Yeah, Akai Katana is very likely. In an Interview RSG said they would love to bring Akai Katana next.

Anyone know if RSG has interest in releasing ketsupachi dlc at a later time? Or do you think they'll stop with the dlc they announced earlier?

They've been very open. If the other DLC (and the game itself) does well enough, they'd be keen to provide Ketsuipachi as DLC as well.

Another consideration in all this (and it what goes on any game's disc) is what Cave offer and allow.

Oh dear!

The first picture stars Yen from Rising Star Games, who I've always dealt with most in my helping out Rising Star. He is a fine chap, and one of those at RSG we owe many thanks to for all these Cave games coming to the UK. He's part of the team that make it happen, and his eagerness to listen to and satisfy the shmup playing community has be fantastic.

Meanwhile, I'm the one dressed like a pretentious prick, while JDE is the one who looks like a respectable person!
