Anyone interested to make a "Shooting Game Tournament 2006" Logo?
I think that a logo might be a good idea, if anyone's up to get one. :D
I've been on it already. I'll pm by monday hopefully. I have not enough pshop skills to brag, so all may beat me if you can.

I'm sure we could be talked into taking you in off the street and upping the nationalities in the team to four if you don't jump onto the Italian team :)

I am sorry but you can't form your team Apes because you need at least 4 human players. Would you alternatively like to join the loser team?

While it may be too late to add new rules, due to how the selection of games takes place it's inevitable you're going to have alienation (there's no perfect scheme regardless). So in an attempt to allow more players to get involved since this tournament is MAME-centric, I suggest you have a secondary, home-friendly game each week worth half the points of the primary game and instead of 3 players submitting their score, only one score is submitted for that game from each team. The major issue would be that some teams don't have as many players as others so having someone to play this secondary game could be an issue as well as some people may still not have access to the game. So take it as you want.

Hopefully there will be some non-MAME stuff. Otherwise, my participation will be pretty limited. :(

I can understand not wanting to use MAME (I rarely use it), but you can't download/play it at all?

Same here. Absolutely no interest in emu. I will play only when emulation is not required.

Added the new entries and Randorama is now a member of Team Cowboy.

About the emulation:
I can perfectly see why people don't want to play on emulator. Though playing on emu is not a requirement in this competition. If you own a game you can play it at your home system. The main issue is, that no matter what game we'd pick there will always be people who don't have this particular game and couldn't enter. That's why I only picked games which are ALSO available in Mame. To ensure that a certain part of the members have access to the games. If you don't own a game and don't want to play on emulator you can skip this game. As long as 3 members of a team join a game, the team don't lose on score. If you own the next game you can still play this game. That's what the team rule is for. :)

To Nemo's suggestion with that secondary game:
Nemo wrote:...as well as some people may still not have access to the game. So take it as you want.
That's exactly what I think. If we would add a secondary game it wouldn't probably owned by every team. So if on one team no one owns this particular game, the team loses on score...
Also it might be not so good to make such a drastic change in the rules just 2 days before the competition starts.

Just asking this for clarification.... I tried to find info on this, but couldn't....

Let's say the game for a particular week is, say, Raiden 2. Would people be able to play any version of Raiden 2, or would it have to be the actual arcade version?

Any version available will be accepted, the same goes for all games on the poll in the horizontal week. As long as there are no significant changes in some ports, which makes the scores not compareable at all. I.e. Gradius NES and Gradius Arcade.

Yeah, but there's also a fair number of players here who don't have access to/preference for emulation. Of course it comes down to a vote with the games you have selected. I would like to see at least one of them be something more modern or non-emulated and let the players decide.

I have a preference for not playing any of these games, sadly. Luckily I'm a team player.
