Scores updated.
Grats on the Normal 8mil ALL, DMC! Get your arse on Advanced already. ^_-

RE: ABC Ship Selection
You are both correct (DEL and DMC) that ABC selection is only required for Advanced to unlock Black Heart2. However, bear in mind that if you are planning to take your team configuration to Advanced to attempt a team scoring run, you'll have to play with ships weaker or stronger than what you were using in Normal. Especially if you're planning to go for all 18 bosses in Advanced. Therefore, playing with ABC selections in Normal is somewhat advised so you don't have to make too many strategic changes in-game.

Thanks, Plasmo. Tack, Sven!

I have a replay from one of the bosses, tsumuji, I did a couple days ago. Since he is a bit tricky at first, I thought some of you may be interested in it. It turns out that he is full of safe spots. I Dunno if this replay rather should be in the strategy section. Pardon me, if that's the case. but here it is anyway:

http://www.mydatabus.com/public/DMC123/tsumujiyea.avi
and @ youtube with little less quality. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnSsFuJMyR8

The trick with the "spin attack" I got form this forum by the way. Really nice one! The first attack, the "ninja helpers" do give you like 60k if you shoot them all, I don't know what I was doing there exactly. One last note, about the "flame attack", not optimal strategy there. Because when I start in the middle and go left sometimes the first flame is to quick on me. But since I start in the middle with the others I still approach the flame attack this way.

What is the japanese high score for this game?

I have seen a japanese guy (yesterday at Taito HEY) and he did G 400 000 score. Truly amazing play
And more he didn'nt finish the last level (so didn't put his initial :? ), trying to save a medal (the rank was pretty hard). He played 3 garrega ships (so no mahou bosses)..

Radegou - The Advance WR is apparently 29.263.970
CARPET, MARIA, FLYING BARON Э by LAOS. An S score I think..

Still no clue whatsoever about how the hell he got those points :?:

If only you could record that guy's G run?!
It would fill in a lot of blanks in our knowledge.

I will see if i can..I saw the player again yesterday but he played dai ou jou.. I dont know if recording camera is authorized at hey?

I think if he add the mahou boss with extreme milking and a clear a 20+ milllions score is possible (he started the final stage with G)

Personally I don't think the player would agree to some random guy filming him playing. I hate having spectators watching me play, makes me nervous, and I'd imagine a lot of players feel the same way.

Could ask and see what he says, but I wouldn't get too hopeful about it.

Scores updated soon, kinda busy at the moment.

They are quite used to have spectators in the arcade. It's definitely worth a try :)

Lol watching a decent japanese Batrider play woul'd be the most exciting shmup event of the year! It seems we hav sooo little knowledge about this game...

I bet there are many many players in that arcade that can acore even higher :)

Tip: you can film him while he'is playing even without his permission: he will be so concentrated that won't notice :D

Cultural difference. Pretty much every Japanese player I've seen or talked to could care less if anyone is watching them, they're focused on the game and nothing else.

When I played Mushi at Hey I had a few people watch me just about every time I did my Stage 3 chain. They'd stick around until I died once in Stage 4, at which point they would instantly scatter and disappear. I never felt so dejected.

Minor improvement, but enough to bump me up a few places. Got to the highway stage with all three ships in stock but Tsumuji fucked me up something fierce.

4,985,670 - Acid King - Stage 5 - Strawman (A) - Flying Baron (B) - Miyamoto (C)

Cleared it. Surprised I beat Hayate. Here's a question. On the high score table it says stage 5. Assumably it's because I didn't trigger the coliseum. Does it say ALL after you finish all the stages or does it always say 5 or 6 on normal course?

When you clear the game, your score post on your high score table turns green, as well as the high score at the top of the in-game screen if it's a new record. The stage number stays to denote how many stages you've accessed leading to your ALL Clear (6 total maximum for Normal, 10 for Advanced, 18 for Special).

While I'm not bothered about asking for stage numbers for Normal, I do ask that Advanced and Special Course ALLs have the stage number listed next to them (and for Special, the name of the boss accessed last, regardless of whether or not it's an ALL).

If you ALL the game in Normal, just put ALL down when you submit your score here. ^_-

I've been biding my time in posting my score because I wanted something worthwhile (To me at least) to post that I wouldn't beat eight times over and keep reposting a bunch of times. I finally did it! And I broke through the 4 million point wall I was hitting!

Normal Course:
5,064,620 - Tempest - Stage 6 - Strawman (A) Miyamoto (C) Maria (C)

Bosses Triggered:
Gob-Robo
Bashinet Mk II

Yeah, you read it right, no Bashinet in Sky High because like a moron I got Miyamoto killed trying to do some fancy crap with Boredom. Also, I'm sorry about not having a screen, I shut down MAME and went to have a smoke after what I thought was an awesome run before I thought to take a picture or a screen :x I will make double sure that all subsequent scores have the proper verification from now on.

Finally got my letter score and what a score it is! Hands are shakin right now!

Died on the first form of Discharge unfortunately and dropped my metal right at the end of Gigatech Building just before Discharge. I also dropped an extend that at least would have got me past the first form.

Just a little more, and maybe I can get that damn B score.

Congratulations Ayanami! I don't doubt that you'll get a B score soon. =) Maybe someday I'll sit down and get into this game some more, but we all know I suck at Raizing games. =P :(
