Fuck. Knew he'd been unwell, but still a little shocked when the pic loaded.

He was Motörhead, and he played rock n' roll.

Diagnosed on boxing day, didn't even make it to 2016 :/

I will listen to their most recent album tomorrow as tribute.

The lifestyle he had for so long I'm surprised he made it to 70. My father who is very healthy recently turned 60 and I keep fearing prematurely like he's on his death bed.

Lemmy was so awesome, I'm so happy I saw them live.

I'm still kicking myself for not seeing Slayer live as an original band.

Well he lived a life. A fellow man of Stoke/Staffs I have always been proud of the bands and musicians that have come from this part of the UK that I was born and raised in.
A real shame, but he he lived and played and read a hell of a lot on his travels.

Metal and horror have taken a real hit this year of 2015 :(

I saw Bolt-Thrower on their last tour before Kiddie, their drummer died a couple of months back - the guy literally walked past me in Berlin last year - this stuff shakes you, I can tell you. He only got to 38 and given Lemmy's lifestyle he did very well to last that long.

True. I made a point of meeting Mikael Akerfeldt in 2014. I love the guy but I don't think he will last with his cigarettes and beer.

Yes, they all seem to smoke; it kills a lot faster than alcohol.

It's a miracle Lemmy managed to live that long. This year was really rough on him and most fans were aware that something like this could happen very soon.

Good old Schneider, the funniest guy on the One Day At A Time show, haven't seen it in years.

Also on New Years day, Natalie Cole passed away.

Yeah, that was a weird one. Never really followed her and she was out of the spot light for a while, but she had a voice, to be sure.

RIP Angus Scrimm. Did they finish Phantasm 6 or not?

I loved Angus Scrimm's interviews and promos, especially his introduction of Phantasm II. Always came across as the kindly older gent he by all accounts was. 89's a fine run... Tall Man is legend.

You mean 5 right? Ravager's on track for this year, it seems. Would be cool to see it released. As peripheral as the sequels are, they're clearly affectionate works deserving of closure.

Shit. I just bought Blackstar today too. I haven't bought a CD from a shop since 2002

Huge fan, saw him in 1995. Genuinely depressed now.

Man that is fucked up. :( I feel like the old world is really slipping away now, and by that I mean all the interesting, talented people that made their industries so colourful are passing on one-by-one. No more Bowie... it's just strange.

My goodness that is no age today. He was a uniquely talented chap. I always recall his part in The Hunger: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0085701/

Things have been very hard going if you grew up in the 80s and 70s as of late.

The thing is, they are not immune to illness and perhaps more likely to succumb to illness than most ordinary people.

We have far too many musicians and directors as of late.

Same. In my opinion it was his best movie performance. Surprisingly powerful.

The opening scenes stick with me; it is very Goth Club but what sticks more so is the pain she undergoes each time one of her lovers expires and how she stores them in the attic.
