That's good to know; a feature like that would increase the game's desirability for me more than any limited edition artwork or t-shirt!

On vertical MVS systems this shouldn't as much of a problem as it is on the horizontal ones.
Yep, the MVS MV-1C motherboard loads such MVS carts vertically indeed (but the MV-1FZ has that slick horizontal space saving cart load slot setup with a smaller overall footprint size which is perfect for some candy cabs with tight PCB placement spacing like Sega's Swing cab and the like). The behemoths of the MV-1 and the MV-1A mobos load them carts horizontally as well.

My wooden cart slotted straight in to my 1FZ Fudoh. Luck of the draw.

btw, Is the wires in a AES controller soldered to the microswitches? maybe I could just open it up and change the wiring.
No need to do that at all!

Hold Button A when powering up your cmvs with the game inserted of course. Keep button held until you hear a sound and you see the ngdev team logo (with the little red devil or whatever)
(the cmvs needs to be in console mode)
Now you have proper tate mode!

Also as an easter egg: try holding C when powering up.
Also it works to combine this and hold A+C when powering up.

Btw Mendeli: I just read your post on NG forum. you don't have to shut the system off and back on while holding A to prevent it from going back to yoko. just keep the A button pressed at the ''Please wait'' screen after each round.

Just by random chance. I was trying to get to unibios menu by holding a+b+c and I guess I didn´t do it properly :)

Yeah that works too. Easy to miss the chance to do that or forget though
Well, what I do now if I find myself in yoko mode is that I mash start button to get in game, then press start once more to pause the game, then hold A and press select, which sort of does a soft boot (and keeping the A held will make it tate again :) )

Not that well. 4.2 million only so far. And my second best score is only a bit above one million. Mostly I´ve been trying to survive (and failing) Chaining seems to have a real dramatic impact on scoring so I guess should try to keep the chain alive (as well as my ship) to get closer to your score :)

Yeah, getting the medals to max. value and then collecting the big bonus icons is by far the largest and most important source of score. Your medal chain ever resets, the run's basically worthless score-wise, the difference is huge. Luckily keeping the medal chain going isn't terribly difficult.

My best is still the 12M I got a while back.

Just posted a review on YouTube. If you're reading this thread, there is likely nothing in the review you don't already know, but here it is anyway:

Brilliant, loved this review & gave it tweet share.

I've never seen those jewel case OST scores available separately via NG Direct - no doubt exclusives to MVS (& AES ?) purchases.
Out of interest, where similar such ones available with Gunlord, Fast Striker & Last Hope kits?

Being of the Dreamcast persuasion, I had another quick question about NEO XYX pre-orders via VGI - if any can field it...

I know Lee likes to offer exclusives with NGDT & Hucast releases (usually some damn cool looking T-Shirts & posters).
I haven't seen any pre-orders for NEO XYX on the Video Game Imports site though - any news or updates on this.

The VGI preorders havn't come up yet but I emailed lee a little while ago about this.they are getting an exclusive collectors edition,he says similar to the Gunlord one,but also said the art for the t-shirts was shit and wanted them to do another one.I would expect the price to be similar to GL CE witch was quite pricey when it came out...

I had a bit of email discussion with them and apparently they are planning on making a separate OST box available later. ( I assume this would include soundtracks of many of their games.)
That said, usually they include soundtracks with some of their dreamcast limited/special editions of games too.

Yeah!

Also, the additional NEO XYX AES LE are ready, and 50 copies are available.

One more NEO XYX note from the newsletter:

Pink Bullets for Dreamcast [reprint]

Saving up to 15 EUR.

@ Jonst, Mendeli, Spadgy:

Great news, thanks for the info update gents, definitely keep a look out.

Soundtracks, yeah Dreamcast LE's do see that extra second disc.
I just think that NEO XYX jewel case OST (along with its art) looks fantastic though.

Possibly twin a collected set of jewel case OST's on NG Direct - alongside the DC newcomer bundle (agreed chempop, all four games) maybe?

Not to take anything away from the LE MVS releases - folks buying those kits enjoy something special,
but if NGDT were to release a boxset of soundtrack titles - Rafael Dyll, et al - Hellwig yeah, sounds good to me

You request it directly from ngdev team by email. I´m not sure why they want to do it that way.

So anyone else like me who got the gamecenter edition and want a shockbox insert? Well, I didnt find one so I tried to make one.
It´s based on Thamiel´s big red shockbox insert template and the flyer that came with the gamecenter edition kit.

printing tips: Paper size A3. Horizontal. Don´t let it get scaled by your software, print at 100% size. It should come out at correct size with white margins that you can then cut off with scissors or something.
