Who wants to bet on the order of 2-ALL clears? The competition is so strong Prome is about to be the 4th to clear this game. :D

Maybe not even, I'm not gonna be rushing for 2-ALL. I'm going for score. It is much more productive for me in the long run. It's highly possible my next replay won't be a 2-ALL, and once I've reached my target score, I might stop doing runs right away and practice (in saved states) for a future better score instead of trying to 2-ALL right away. Just like last time.

Clearly scoring is harder than 2-ALLing in this game anyway, because of rank !

2-ALL will be the side effect from Prom's journey for score.

PROMETHEUS practices shmups a lot like professional classical musicians practice their music, no lie. Method-wise, that is.

Thank you captpain, that is nice to read. I've always been convinced the key to my past progression lies in those efficient practice methods. That's why I made a guide to share those thoughts !

I've come to think "learning to learn" is the single most important skill to master. From it all other skills will greatly benefit, by growing so much faster.

You should really practice chaining if you want to score big. 484 hit chain is a little too low if you're already at 2-3. I see a lot of potential that your score could benefit from if you learned to chain more enemies.

Of course, you're probably playing for survival. I'm sure that with time and practice, your score will vastly exceed what it is now.

Reclaiming #1 !

For some reason I'm quite consistent with stage 1-4 and up, and quite inconsistent with stage 1-1 to 1-3. I've indeed spent a lot of time practicing 1-4 and 1-5 only. So most of the runs I've played these past days were me actually missing in those first 3 stages >.<

Here I messed up the chains in those early stages, losing 120M, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't happen all the freaking time lawl. Then all good, sexy 1-4 and 1-5 "perfect" (for me) chains. Missed @2-1 boss losing maximum bonus. Did ok with the rest, some luck in 2-4 allowed me to keep living a little longer than I should have with a nice little chain. Cool "random" dodging in 2-5. Hibachi pretty much hammered me again. I'll kill him another time !

I think I've reached Hibachi for this one, with 0/0 in stock so no chance at all. Couldn't have posted this sooner because I was in a place where there were no internet.

Nb : Naut is certainly playing right now, and at the very least Erppo is holding a ~270M score in DDP.

Finally f****** free!!
I just watched your replay .asp. Really solid first loop, you know your chains and you have the skills to do them. Can't wait to see a full 1-4 chain from you. I also really really like that you're playing with Type B, somehow I missed that "detail" previously, that's awesome. It's crystal clear you have potential for much more, with even a nearly full 2-5 chain displayed in this run.

Looking forward to battling it out for #1 with your B type.

Remind me, what kind of controler do you play with ?

I did a 1-4 full chain before, saved in a 1.116B input I think. The hit count was 1700 something, score for 1-4 was about 220M.

I play with this Razer Blackwidow keyboard http://i.imgur.com/tEZsc.jpg , unilluminated version. The left arrow and 3 numpad are all out of order from the constant playing. Now I'm playing with numpad 4-5-6-8.

Awesome. Keyboards are turning out to be the ruling class of Western STG lol. From the types of movements in your replay I was expecting it may be keyboard since it's quite similar to the way I move.
By the way I just bought myself a new Keyboard cause my saitek eclipse is old now, and I decided to try out the SteelSeries 6gv2 http://www.4gamer.net/games/037/G003732 ... SS/002.jpg. It's a very simple, very high quality real gaming keyboard. By "real" I mean there's no extra keys/screens/whatever nonsense about it that's all completely useless for gaming, it's a 100% standard keyboard with very high quality mechanical keys and materials. It's way expensive (75€), but I've always wanted to try it out. We'll see if it's worth it and how it fares with DOJ and stuff. Recently I was playing with a shitty 9€ keyboard as a temporary replacement for the old one. Shitty keyboard works okay, but I can definitely feel the added comfort and precision when I play with a better one.

I think it has pretty much been proven that keyboard is the proper way to play DDP games.
