I bought a new camera as I could afford it now a new model has been announced and the price of this is down... of course being a geek I hate having to do this but there was nothing added that I "need" anyway.
Image

Having a camera I don't hate and can carry around much more easily should = many more shitty hipster pictures taken and we all know the world needs more of those.

I've never seen so many IMAGE QUOTES!

Hehehe!

Kidding aside, the CoreGrafx really puts some scale to that PVM (I assume it's a PVM).

12 inch?

I love the picture on those small high-end CRTs...my buddy has an old Zenith 13" - I've never seen a PCB look as crisp and "together" than on that tiny Zenith.

Maybe it's something to do with pixel density? Obviously a 320x240 game will look tighter shrunken down, but it seems that the image is just altogether more crisp - no pixel bleeding or whatever.

Cool shit. Want one. (Want an NEC XM29 more though....:p)

Just picked this up.

Image

And when I say picked up, I mean it was free - a guy on another forum said "Whoever comes to take this can have it". Lo and behold, 40 minute bus trip from me, so I figured why not. Turned out that the power cable was missing, but from the looks of it it's just a standard cable.

THE GAMES:
- The Incredibles
- FIFA05
- Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
- NHL 2005
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
- Spider-man 2
- Just Cause
- Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition
- Ghost Recon 2
- MX vs. ATV Unleashed
- FIFA Street
- True Crime: Streets of LA
- NHL 06
- Motocross Mania 3
- NHL 07
- The Warriors
- AMPED
- TOCA Race Driver 2
- MTX Mototrax
- Men of Valor
- Grand Theft Auto III
- Grand Theft Auto Vice City
- Project Gotham Racing

The sports titles I give zero fucks about and most of the racing is probably the same. Definitely planning on getting this modded.
My 1CCs so I can find the list easier myself

9"! Sony PVM-9041QM to replace my Commodore 1081 as the vertical hold went.

It's pixel density most likely yes, plus this is a 15kHz only model.

I picked up a Sony BVM (20") not too long ago. Insane quality. No visible pixel aperture whatsoever. It's like looking at a LCD (minus all the processing).

Considering it's size I think it's a great little screen.

I can get rid of my 32" LCD now.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Some stuff that came in last week and today...

Hori joystick carrying bag. Big enough for the huge Hori Vewlix stick. Super Famicom laserdisc and SF anniversary w/ megaman lanyard.

Image

Ether Vapor Remaster and latest Shooting Gameside book. . Also some Korean PC games, including a funky MAME pirate looking thing of Esprade (funky novelty I suppose).

Dark Judgement beat'em up

Crayon Shinchan platformer

I just bought a bunch of other stuff, mostly roguelikes, but none of it matters compared to ZAS. ...and it only took four years to find one in this condition.

I am really tempted to pick one up, getting Ridge Racer R4 in the mail soon [no more emulation, and it was really cheap, supposedly complete, hopefully it has the Ridge Racer Turbo disc], and eventually some other games. How good are they? Does the twist feel natural? Amazon has some new-in-box white ones for $20 or so, plus shipping, so I'm interested.

Also, I wonder if my cheapy PS1->PC converter will recognize it, but that doesn't matter.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Props on the CIB ZAS, very cool. I have a loose cart of the game and that was difficult enough to acquire.

At first the twisting thing might feel weird, but it shouldn't take you too long to get used to it and after that it feels pretty great and very smooth. Some games allow you to configure it very accurately (so you can set how far you need to twist it to get the maximum amount of turn) but even if not, it's still fun to play with. And since neGcon is needed to play many PS1 racing games with analog controls I do recommend getting one.

Your converter should recognize it. And the cool thing is, if you're playing any PC racing game that allows the remapping of axes, you can use the neGcon with it.

I hope to see some time attack results from you, the Ridge Racer tables haven't received much attention lately.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

that find 8) .
