Definition of populist

1 : a member of a political party claiming to represent the common people; especially, often capitalized : a member of a U.S. political party formed in 1891 primarily to represent agrarian interests and to advocate the free coinage of silver and government control of monopolies

2 : a believer in the rights, wisdom, or virtues of the common people
Words have objective meanings. Donald Trump is objectively, overwhelmingly not a populist by any measure of the term.

But he plays a fake one in the WWE show that Goldman Sachs put on this year.

quash, you understand that public schools are communism, right? They didn't use to exist. They exist because communists made them exist.

You know basic history right?

You know the war in Iraq, as well as many of those coups in South America was capitalism, right?

Right?

NSDAP making a stand against corporate interests and giving the power back to the people:
Hundreds of thousands of people in occupied territories were used as slave labour by leading German corporations including Thyssen, Krupp, IG Farben, Bosch, Blaupunkt, Daimler-Benz, Demag, Henschel, Junkers, Messerschmitt, Philips, Siemens, and Volkswagen, on top of Nazi German startups which ballooned during this period, and all German subsidiaries of foreign firms including Fordwerke (Ford Motor Company) and Adam Opel AG (a subsidiary of General Motors). By 1944, slave labour made up one quarter of Germany's entire work force, and the majority of German factories had a contingent of prisoners. In rural areas the shortage of agricultural labour was filled by forced laborers from the occupied territories of Poland and the Soviet Union. The children of these workers were unwanted in Germany, and usually murdered inside special centres known as Ausländerkinder-Pflegestätte.

There's no way in hell you don't know that "National Socialism" has almost nothing in common with "actual" Socialism, let alone Democratic Socialism, no matter where on the spectrum you care to look (once again, flashing red light number one: the stated endgame is the domination over - and/or eradication of - an inferior rabble by a superior minority); nor could you possibly be ignorant of the fact that the name was merely a cynical Hitler-initiated redubbing of the nutso-right German Workers' Party to broaden its surface appeal. The Nazis were Fascists, not Socialists.

Which makes your history-averse attempt to tie rampant, government-sanctioned corporate atrocities to the left instead of the right even more hilarious: you're giving Kellyanne a serious run for her money over there.

You might have missed some of the irony in Ingram's post.

OT: will agree with quash that public schools suck but I don't know if I'd call them Lenin (I'd call them soul-crushing however). It does remind me of how private/parochial schools were first seen by WASPs as an insidious attempt to brainwash children and create a new papal state where they wouldn't learn the fundamentals of Americanism that you would get in a public school.

Hiring freeze on federal workers. The slack to be taken up by (you guessed it) contractors and an increased deficit.

The person you're responding to is Jon. Jon is a state communist. (Not a stateless communist, like a few of us other weeabs.) He's pointing out here that state capitalism likes to pay employees as close to $0 an hour as possible.

quash is only one person. Don't confuse non-quashes as being quashie or quash-like in outlook or opinion. His view of cutting taxes for the rich being a great thing is a minority here.

This is shmups forum. It is a bit to the right of Jon, but an ocean's stride to the left of Obama.

I'm even willing to non-ironically call them concentration camps for children, but acknowledge the first few years as being useful for imparting basic arithmetic and reading skills. For-profit schools like Burkina Faso has lowers the bar to the ground.

Past that, a more skills oriented system more like college would make more sense. These bastards were still telling me what a goddamn pronoun was in High School. Teenagers should be learning about neural nets or how to become a plumber or electrician by then..

Daycare for teenagers is the last thing they need. They need a foothold on how to make some money.

What we should really do is tax rich people at 0%, and tax poor people at 200%. That way we will see once and for all whether Republican economic strategy works.

When it does, we flog all the leftist crybabies who were skeptical of the brilliance of this strategy.

https://www.donaldjtrump.com/policies/tax-plan
The Trump Plan will collapse the current seven tax brackets to three brackets. The rates and breakpoints are as shown below. Low-income Americans will have an effective income tax rate of 0. The tax brackets are similar to those in the House GOP tax blueprint.

Brackets & Rates for Married-Joint filers:
Less than $75,000: 12%
More than $75,000 but less than $225,000: 25%
More than $225,000: 33%
*Brackets for single filers are ½ of these amounts

The Trump Plan will retain the existing capital gains rate structure (maximum rate of 20 percent) with tax brackets shown above. Carried interest will be taxed as ordinary income.

The 3.8 percent Obamacare tax on investment income will be repealed, as will the alternative minimum tax.
Try harder next time, please.

I needed grad school for that. Boy was I tricked [into signing away my life].

At least I am a responsible poor person paying my government loaners $500/month. 8)

Europe's school system seems about 40 generations ahead of the USA in that regard.

Damn, you're right. The tax rate on poor people would need to be 600% to be truly Republican.

Hey man, don't get mad just because you support a 1200% tax rate on poor people. Not like it would make a difference for them. They have zero or less dollars either way.

Dunno, bro. You're a slave and 2400% of your money is just going to go to taxes.

So given that you're a poor person, what do you think of the Republican plan to make a poor person's vote worth 2/3rds of a rich person's vote? Would you say this is better or worse than the death camps plan previously proposed?

Well, you tell me what the hell you were thinking in including the stock market in your collection (of two) apparently faked or unreliable signs of the economy?

If it all comes down to "but I'm not doing as good as I want" that's fine, but you weren't the only person in the US economy for 8 years.

No doubt there is an ongoing problem for low-skilled and "over-skilled" workers (according to HR departments) and of course we need to work on that.

Speaking of things, remember when quash told us all that if we supported Hillary we had to enlist?

Well, let's see...

Trump moving the US Ebmassy to Jerusalem
Trump telling China it can't go to its bases in the South China Sea (worst bluff ever)

Sorry quash, but your "I was right about Trump all along" line is worn through on day two.

Well of course I don't expect you to support any conflict that may actually benefit the US, especially if a Republican's at the helm. There's no virtue signalling in looking out for America's best interests, unless you count protests against it.

"Their bases" lol. Gotta love the implicit kowtowing here. Funny how UN rulings only matter when it's convenient.

I was right about Trump, as I've been right about basically everything, and you're going to see what an actual war (that is, one waged with the end goal of creation in mind) looks like.

I'm pumped. I may even extend my tour if things move quickly enough this year.

That all sounds pretty scary! Then you realize that the state that has been most successful in draining incomes through taxation and making sure your vote doesn't count is... California.

I find it funny that the Midwestern Democrat types in particular seem to think their party is in any way above dirty politics or corporate cronyism. I think every registered Democrat should take a mandatory field trip to California, bankrolled by the state itself, of course.

An old excerpt on the democratic strategy of being shit:

"The primary tactic in this game is Villain Rotation. They always have a handful of Democratic Senators announce that they will be the ones to deviate this time from the ostensible party position and impede success, but the designated Villain constantly shifts, so the Party itself can claim it supports these measures while an always-changing handful of their members invariably prevent it."

Also it's kind of funny billionaire Elon Musk is o-k with ExxonMobil's CEO as secretary of state. It's nice we're at least not pretending we're all shit, now.
