This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

I'm going to miss Loading. Whilst it probably wasn't the best environment to play shmups it was such a good location that a few of us turned up at each meet. In fact at the last meet I attended JDE hooked up his laptop to one of the tv's in the basement and that solved all those laggy problems - though I still played like ass.

Here's hoping something happens with Las Vegas. Is there anything we can do to push this along?

Loading lives! It's now in Dalston, and part of the London Games Space; a place where indie developers (and hopefully wangling journalists!) can work at desks for free. Good if you want other devs insights on a project, some free testers, or need to ask a dev a coding question. It's below a bar in Dalston, and apparently very popular. I'll dig out the address soon, but I hear it's a better space.

And neorichieb1971. HoG is 'Heart of Gaming', a new-ish West London arcade.

And DEL, I must say you look great in your Pork cosplay. Will you where it to Stunfest?

Oh - and Las Vegas should have cabs in by early May. I'll chase an update!

I'll be at HoG tommorrow evening as it 'appens.. in case anyone else feels like showing up i'll be in the console room hustling people at smash bros.. planning to squeeze a few shmups in while i'm at it.

But where would I where it? Would I where it en France? Just where I dunno?

Thanks for hosting. I also realised after I had left and was on the tube home that I forgot to pay my part of the pizza costs. Next time I see you Rupert I'll have the money for you. Sorry about that.

Space Moth is awesome!

Your crime did not go unnoticed. I was going to send some heavies around to work on your kneecaps, but your suggestion seems acceptable. :D

Rupert's Euroshmup Meet was a roaring success, even though hzt didn't dress as Angela Merkel like spadgy suggested.
Massive thanks to Rupert for making everything go smoothly and for everyone's feedback on Space Moth!

That reminds me - I still owe you £10 MX7! I promise I've not forgotten.

Sorry not to join you at the weekend chaps, and especially gutted to miss more Space Moth action.

When and where are we next meeting in the real world? New Loading? HoG even?

I'm glad that Loading is still around, but the new East End location is only really convenient for me, you and MX7. Although it wasn't ideal for shmupping, at least the old location was right in the middle of London and easy for nearly all the Casino Crew to access, which is why I was keen on meeting there. But that's no longer the case, so I don't think the benefits outweigh the drawbacks now.

Until Las Vegas Arcade get some new cabs with shmups in (fingers crossed), there isn't going to be a central London location for us to meet, which sadly means that some of the Crew will have to make a big journey to be able to meet up. Because of this, I think it would be best to have less frequent, but bigger and longer, gatherings at HoG for now. I reckon a monthly HoG meet would be good.

I'd appreciate it if someone else could organise these though, at least for a little while: I'm extremely busy at the moment and wouldn't feel comfortable planning events that I might not be able to turn up to!

Monthly HoG meets sound good. I'll try taking the organisational lead for a bit.

Also, would people be interested in doing a meet at my place along the lines of Rupert's?

And we need to go on a day trip to visit the place MX7 has found.

For the HoG, are weekend's best? How about this for a starting date? Saturday, April 19th. Who can make it? Late afternoon/early evening start?

Also, JDE. New post at my flat addressed to you from a Mr John. I believe his first name is Papa? I'll file it with the rest (which means it'd a promo leaflet headed starting for the bin.).

Also no HoG for me, especially not 19th. I'm really busy at the moment since I'm coming up to the end of uni but I can make some house meet after the next couple of weeks. Also I'm leaving in the first week of June so I've got to see all of you before then!

I also can't do the bloody 19th! Forgot a wedding! And that's it's easter weekend.

So, something at mine soon and something at HoG (I'm always up for HoG!).

I'll try and drum up some dates.

Thanks so much for hosting Rupert, I had a really lovely time. Are the suggested film nights gonna go ahead? I really want to get my grubby hands over that delicious film collection of yours?

I'm really up for more HOG meets, I think if dont get my ass up to London to play in a real arcade setting my motivation to play better will evaporate. Something about putting your money where your mouth is I think.

This thread has become too much of a ghost town.

I'm definitely up for a HoG meet soon.

And later this month there should be a meet at mine. Dan76 and JDE need to give Space Moth a final pre-release showing! More details soon.

Some of us (me, DEL, JWS, Smraedis, CHI, Icarus) are off to Stunfest this weekend, so expect lots up updates here or in the London Stunfest thread!

And CHI - big news on your job. I look forward to hearing what's next for you!

Hey dude, sorry, I haven't been home for a while. It's the Dell U2312HM. I'm sure they've updated the monitor multiple times since 2011, but this baby still serves me well. Near-zero lag, great image and easy rotation.
