I got a more recent Dio live Blu-ray for Christmas (thanks to my wife who knows I'm a big fan of his guitar player at the time Doug Aldrich) and they played a handful of Rainbow tunes which sparked my interest. Listening to it know, killer stuff!

Nice! The lineup in that clip has always been my absolute favorite Coltrane lineup.

Dio knew his guitarists. I'm still a total newbie at anything of his later than Holy Diver TBH, Magica and Sabbath's Dehumanizer aside... but I had a feeling Aldrich was indeed the guy I'd seen in the London 2005 concert footage. Another Aldrich fan linked me to those, which retroactively got me into Dio's Rainbow and early solo years.

Super Shooting Nerd Trivia for Rising: compare Blackmore's solo in "Starstruck" to Konami Shooting Battle's "Faraway" from Trigon. It drove me nuts trying to figure out why the former was so familiar, haha. If you're gonna steal, steal from the greats I suppose.

Ah, I spent yesterday going on a bit of Dio binge for the first time in forever after the Rainbow post too.

Maybe someday you'll be like me, and that's free

It is my favored as well. Coltrane had to move on because that's what he always does but the classic quartet is one of the crowing jewels of his career.

Some nice, relaxing synth music to start this (hopefully) dead-celeb-free year.

Art of Fighting 2 OST- Swing the House (Robert stage, by Yamapy-1), Shinobi no Michi (Eiji stage), Eikou-e no Jokyoku (Micky stage, by Jojoha Kitapy), & Geese ni Kiss- Cyber Edit.

Psykosonik- Acid Hammer
Reminds me of "Kill Off" from Sega's Crack Down (arcade System 24, stages 1-4/2-4/3-4). "Drop, drop, drop the hammer.... drop the hammer, slammer jammer!"

Psykosonik- Silicon Jesus (Break The Screen mix)
Though there are a few bits of the original lyrics, it's like a whole new song rather than a remix. Good stuff.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

Mick Chillage - Paths
This is a part of the same Databloem series I got to be a part of where all albums are 2 cds in length. This one is interesting as its a mix of beatwork with ambient tracks.

Glenn Gould's 1981 recording of the Goldberg Variations.

I thought I was going crazy at first because I kept thinking I was hearing voices - turns out he just hums through the whole damn thing. Puts my mind at ease to know it wasn't just me, but I find it a little unnerving all the same. It's just at the right volume to be audible but difficult to make out - it's the level of volume a horror game would use for disembodied murmurs. It's a little charming because of how odd it is and his playing is excellent, but I think I'll find a cleaner performance.

This is a compilation of works by Brian Eno and various German electronic musicians from the late 70s. It's great, and it really shows off a pair of speakers I just finished restoring.

Fantastic album. Next month will be even better for the synthwave scene, with Robert Parker and Nightcrawler releasing new works.

Watched Dillinger Escape Plan live last night. That was what I'd call a mic drop.
