Did you take the boss out at the same time as you got hit? Or something like that?
tinotormed wrote: There were also people having problems related to the online scoreboard either.
Will have a look at it.

Thanks for pointing these out!

Probably, but not too close to dying as I died in the middle of a fight.

Also another bug, the powerup fails to increase or change whenever it was about to change color.

I just downloaded the PC version; How do I select between 2 loops and infinite loops? Also even though the options say wallpapers are enabled, they don't show up even after I made a batch file to run the game in my laptop's native resolution. Do I have to provide my own wallpapers or something?

Texture width and height must be powers of two

Old/low-end graphics hardware. I get that on my "work" machine (that is for my personal stuff, not for my day job), a 5-year-old netbook with puny Intel integrated graphics.

I have a fix for people who have java errors and JAVA installed, basically read this:

http://www.java.com/en/download/help/path.xml

It has worked and ultimately fixed my issue of not being able to run TTS

Kaiser: I was thinking about bundling java with the app, but it would have been A LOT bigger so I didn't.

Also added a toaster effect with info about the currently playing song. All Cyber Rainforce and I think I'll stick with them this time around. His music is just marvelous.

No, game's been on hiatus for a while. Felt like picking it up again.
It's more or less just the bosses (5 more) left to do, but as I mentioned earlier they are giving me a hard time. Even with the excellent suggestions offered to me.

Now it's just one boss left! \o/

They all needs polishing and so as well, but at least the rest of them is in place now. Just realised they need the time-out treatment done too, oh well.
Been thinking about boss energy meters for a week now, and I think I'm going with the red squares from gun.smoke. Yes, I need that I feel. :)

All bosses are in place now! Yay, party.

Been tinkering with side-art and logos and stuff like that.
Also, Gun.Smoke boss energy squares ftw! Right?

Thanks, it's quite alright isn't it?
It's pencil -> smudge(gimp) -> curve-change(gimp) -> coloring with multiply(gimp). Going to do a few more now... :)

Edit: Uploaded new playable version, all levels in.

You had me there, good one. :P

I may have found a bug in the latest version. I picked the blue ship and no-missed up to the second boss (those Godzilla boss screams...) when the application suddenly terminated right after killing him.

What mission did you select, do you remember? Most likely an issue with that.
I've only actually tested the BonusX missions.

Huge thanks!

It was the fourth mission ("Kill all Sphaeridiums"). I tried it with a different mission and I got all the way up to Stage 7 before I forced myself to quit. ;)

EDIT: Also, I noticed the blue ship may have an issue with firepower. I was able to kill the second boss and cancel all of its bullets before it got the chance to use the pincer attack on me, while it was still partially offscreen.

But that mission only gives score...so, that is really strange. Will go through them all.
Edit: Ah, found it. Thanks for spotting!
S20-TBL wrote: the way up to Stage 7 before
With the blue ship? That must have been a pain, except for the bosses. So, you think it's boring or could this turn out to be fun?
S20-TBL wrote:Also, I noticed the blue ship may have an issue with firepower
The way I see it:
Stages are harder with the blue ship (or rather they are supposed to be) since of the concentrated firepower.
But than the bosses will be easier, because of the same reason. But it shouldn't be that easy, maybe.
The most important part is that if you go for points, you will never pick the [P] up so you will have lot weaker shots when facing the bosses. Then this wouldn't happen, right?

But I dunno...am I thinking about this the wrong way?
Again, huge thanks for playing!

Also, drawing is kind of fun...

I used the red ship up to stage 7. Re: the blue ship, since I had 4 helpers with me at all times providing cover fire due to their slow tracking speed then the popcorns weren't too much of an issue, though you're right about the the red ship's superior coverage and poor frontal power (I had to point blank bosses whenever possible) vs. the blue ship's focused power and poor coverage.

You have a good point with the +X bonus items though, I might try that.

New version, now you can select missions that gives point awards without having the game crash on you.

Ah, you're right...the new behavior (kept between stages and powering them up) of the helpers has screwed up my equations...needs some serious rethinking.

Now, I'm off to give all bosses satellites. Going to be fun. :)

About "Twin Tiger Shark": It is incredible how we enjoy the same or similar things...When I saw your project at 1st time, I said: "WOW! THIS BOSS IS A TWIN BROTHER OF MY "X-PANZER KANONE"!", hehehehehe!

Your boss:

My "X-PANZER KANONE", created at 2009, for the game "X-ARGON":

I also remember when Rozyrg was creating "XYX"... During a conversation via MSN (R.I.P. :)), and he wanted create new challenges...

I showed my concept to him,

and his answer was this:

Observe that three concepts ARE NOT the same design, but a SIMILAR idea, because WE LOVE THESE INCREDIBLE MONSTERS/MACHINES :). Sucess for all games.

Wow, I remember that conversation, seems so long ago. That boss had to be completely reworked for the Neo version; but I have way less worries over stuff like on-screen sprite limits and on-the-fly scaling and rotation with GM vs. ancient arcade hardware. >_>

I can't reiterate enough how excellent TTS is, btw. I was playing it again this weekend, marveling at all the fine details and having a blast. I still need to catch up and play Broken Pearl, though.

Yeah, excellent ideas for excellent games :) "TTS" is a very beautiful and cool game, and "Broken Pearl" promises the same!

Mice, are you selling related things like t-shirts, toys, miniatures, artbooks or something?

the commercial appeal of the game is impressive!

Haha, no. Would be cool, though.

Tinkering with the rasperry pi now, could maybe do an arcade release based on it?

Next year, in my city, there will be two game events, the "SAGA", at june, and "RE-SAGA", at october (this year, yesterday was the last day). I'd like to participate with a stand showing our INDIE games.

Can I include a TTS arcade cabinet?

Yes, ofcourse. :)

I uploaded a RC build of BP to the xbox playtest now.
The action there is really non existant, the review section have 8 games in it so releasing this on xbox is going to take forever. :?

Got some feedback on the playtest there now at least, so things might actually be moving there after all. Fingers crossed.

In other news, I wasted $125 on a java to c++ tool.
Even with their excellent support it will not be usable to me. The tool isn't what it promised to be.
Would have loved to get that kind of thing into my tool-chain without me having to do much. It looks like I'll have to create a usable tool myself...as usual.
I managed to get my engine up and running on the rasperry pi, but it ran a tad too slow. So, having the games in c++ would be a first step to conquer slower hardware. :)
