Sorry, those pics are actually at 720p. 1080p scanlines look quite bad IMO. The XSelect works just fine with the SLG3000, although it doesn't have the bandwidth to handle a 1080p signal (or my unit is messed up).

You know it looks awesome.

I actually tried it with Blu-ray movies... let's just say I won't be using it.

Hey all :)

so here some case news. Before I`m loosing track of all the stated interest I do the job properly.

Pre-order is opened:

Available versions are

- transparent with engraving (mirrored from the back side of the top sheet)
- black with engraving
- black base with transparent top sheet with engravings

There is no version without engraving!

Some facts:

- All cases are laser cut, which means absolute clear polished edges.

Case Prices:
- Case DIY Kit goes now for 15,00€ plus shipping 4€ (applies for all countries)
- SLG with case for 66€

Send me a PM or use the ArcadeForge (http://www.arcadeforge.de) contact form http://wp1114205.wp150.webpack.hosteuro ... age_id=222

So I had the chance to work with great stuff acryl / plexi. My supplier points me to a stuff called doming, it`s a kind of 3d sticker. I`ve ordered some cases in white with acryl this doming. I`ve done this coz I couldn't imagine how engraving will look on white acryl. I post some pics when I receive them.

#106 (108?) arrived in Denmark today :D

XRGB-3 B1 > SLG3000:
Image
The scanlines are every bit as good as the XRGB-3's. Very nice stuff :) 50Hz works perfectly too but when used with the XRGB-3 in B1 mode both dip 4 and 5 have to be off (applies for both 50 and 60Hz strangely enough).

you didn't change the XRGB's sync polarity as I've pointed out ;)

I thought you were talking Fury + DVDO? I don't have either of those things yet. It seems to work fine this way with both dip switches OFF though :)

I'm building my own case for it right now. Not that there's anything wrong with the plexi cases from arcadeforge, but I like doing stuff like this. I'm installing two switches, one for scanlines ON/OFF and the other to put DIP 4 or DIP 5 ON or both OFF at the same time. Is there any reason why I would ever need to change DIP 1-3?

I ran into problems this way. In the setting you're using the XRGB works fine with 240p sources only, but with 480i or 480p sources you'll run into trouble (or at least I did). If you invert the vertical sync, all input signals work fine as they're supposed to.

I don't know why I didn't immediately try to add scanlines to a 480i image from the XRGB-3...

I'll try that as soon as I finish this casing. Will report back if I need to switch sync polarities also.

another working setup

RGB / YUV SOURCES > XSELECT-D4 > XRGB-3 B1 > SLG3000 > VP30

using D-Terminal to D-Terminal cable to connect XSELECT and XRGB (100% compatibility with my systems unlike VGA)
VP30 in the end to unlock frame rate and upscale to 1080p

XSELECT-D4 + XRGB-3 + SLG3000 + ISCAN VP30 + 120" DLP PROJECTOR
do games remain playable on this setup ? Usually projectors have quite noticeable input lags and - if my memory serves me right - the VP30 has also quite a big delay when fed with progressive sources, doesn't it ?

I'm really a bitch when it comes to input lag and no problem noticed on fighting and shmup games. My projector dont have input lag as long as i feed it with 1080p. I did all the test a few month ago (input lag tests with crt monitor etc...)

I finished my casing, turned out pretty good I think:

Image

I moved DIP 4 and 5 to a simple 3 pos switch where one side is DIP 4 ON, the other DIP 5 ON and middle is both OFF.

Image

Fudoh you were right I had to invert one of the sync's from the XRGB-3 to get scanlines on 480i games :)

Hey Mr SLG3000, I just ordered me one of these here badass devices, via Arcadeforge.de! Roll on Muchi Muchi/Pink & scanline sweetness! ;-)

54.95 Euro, inc delivery (UK) sounds good to me. (Though exchange rate is presently a bitch!)

Just Paypal'd ya now, so any idea of shipping estimates my good man? Thanks.

(This order is for bare-bones unit only - I'm not fussed with regard to the case.)

Ciao.

Anybody tried adding scanlines to GBA games, Either roms played at 480p or the actual games running through a gamecube GBA adaptor-->480p component?

Thanks :) The case is an old project box I picked up at a local store a few years back. Originally used as a Saturn adapter box for my old custom arcade stick, but since my new twin arcade stick have all PCB's inside I didn't need it anymore. Sorry I don't know the model/maker.

The knob is a metallic one I took from an old Model 3/Naomi sound amp. Had to file the stock one down quite a bit to make it fit and glued it on just in case.

The 3 pos switch is a 2P3T slide switch I bought from an eBay seller. A 1P3T switch also works.
http://www.wehonest.com/eBay/SlideSwitc ... fOn_02.jpg

The other switch is a similar 1P2T switch that matches the other.

Thanks for a great product! I hooked up my XRGB-3 to the SLG3000 and switched between the XRGB-3's and SLG3000's scanlines and they looked 100% the same. I guess I was expecting the XRGB-3 to perform a little better but I'm glad to see the SLG do just as good.
I tried shitty ports of 240p games running in 480i on the PS2 connected to the XRGB-3 and SLG3000. Metal Slug 3 looked very nice but the bad scrolling still remained. Metal Slug 4 looked almost perfect! Only the slight flickering added from the XRGB's deinterlacing is still noticeable, this could be solved by using a better deinterlacer.
Also tried Sega MegaDrive Collection, Neo Geo Arcade Collection 1 and Sonic Gems Collection but there are NO hope for these games no matter how much money you spend on your AV equipment...

:) ! GBA games on my jailbroken PS3 look fantastic and scanline perfectly. Component transcoded to VGA gave the games a soft feel, but I preferred the sharp image from the HDFury in this instance.

Just ordered an HDFury 2, so I have version 1 for sale, along with an iscan pro for those of you looking for some SLG goodness...

try both dip settings (4 on, 5 off and vice versa) for those 480i titles. I've tried MS3 and Sengoku Ace 2 and they both require different dip settings to properly eliminate line flicker.

I did :) If I remember correctly it worked best with DIP 4 ON, 5 OFF.

Fudoh,

Perhaps the first page of this thread should have your findings with dip switches and what not. This thread is getting spread out too much now, its pages and pages long to find stuff.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

Theres no way I would ever need to set DIP 4 and 5 to ON at the same time right?

My switch works like this:

Code: Select all

Left:
DIP4 DIP5
ON OFF
Middle:
DIP4 DIP5
OFF OFF
Right:
DIP4 DIP5
OFF ON
According to the chart on the website this should work fine for all resolutions.

240p source > XRGB-3 B0 @ 1080p > DVDO Edge @ 480p > SLG3000

Somebody post pics

Why would you do that? Because of incompatibility issues with B1 mode and certain consoles?
