Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
I like to try vegetarian/vegan food, because I love new kinds of food (the ethics of meat doesn't really enter into it). The best places to find recipes is on sites that focus on that kind of diet, but it can be tiresome to constantly see references to recipes as guilt/cruelty/corpse free. I'm here for the soup, not the movement.

Since April 1st (the new sales tax rate went from 5% to 8%) all stores here in Japan are now pricing U.S.A. style. Meaning that it used to be what you saw on the price tag was what you paid. Now they add 8% at the register.

That's nothing ! It's about 20% in most of Europe.

When a score in a shmup is so long I have a difficult time reading it. Seriously why all the digits...

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
Haha and that was the game I was thinking about too

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
Same here. Since I only have opportunity to play games about once every two weeks, I ALWAYS have to update before playing, which consumes half of my available time to playnasty_wolverine wrote:large xbox update, which make me wait 15 mins just to play a game for 15mins...

Installstation is what they called PS3 in the beginning, no ?

People filming/taking photos of crammed buses/trains and stops/stations. Why the fuck.
The whole take photos of everything you see culture pisses me off tbh.

White trash dumbfucks who put leashes on their children. If you aren't smart enough to teach your child not to wander off and don't even have the brains to treat them like a damned human being, then you shouldn't be parents at all.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
From France, read that sentence and was not quite sure what leashes means. So I asked wikipedia :Lord Satori wrote:White trash dumbfucks who put leashes on their children.
Code: Select all
A leash (also called a lead, lead line or tether) is a rope or similar material attached to the neck or head of an animal for restraint or control.

Now I know what White trash dumbfucks means.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
^To be fair, parents usually attach the leash to the wrist of the kid, not the neck. But it still weirds me out when I see that in amusement parks in the US.
Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
I've seen ones where it's like a full chest harness. Fucking awful.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
to be fair, a full chest harness provides more support against pulling and should brace the kid effectively. on the other hand a leash around the hand or neck is just asking for it to pop if pulled hard suddenly, and thats not even considering cutting off circulation or breathing.trap15 wrote:I've seen ones where it's like a full chest harness. its quite common here, but its only at home when the moms alone, and its around the waist or ankle with a long cloth (dupatta or saree), so that the kid doesnt wander of into unsafe areas when she is busy cooking or cleaning.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
People's children off the leash running around causing mayhem and destruction.
Also, people who let their children have meltdowns in public, throwing tantrums and screaming, and doing nothing but ignore them. I'm not condoning beating the crap out of your kids, but sometimes they need a smack to get them in line, like when we were kids and spanking was perfectly acceptable. Kids today are spoiled and they know it.
Seriously though, children are the worst! I wish they were all on leashes and kept away from public places, let them out of the basement when they turn 18 or something.

Speaking of annoying children, strangers who insist on showing you pictures of their kids. I don't fucking know you and I don't care about your shitty kids.
Also, on a related note, every parent who has ever said "People say my kid should be a model."

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
As a parent, my annoyance is other kids' parents in general.
For example, my girlfriend's brother and his wife:
* Let their kids eat candy any day of the week, then complain the kids are hyper and won't go to sleep until late at night
* Always let their son get what he wishes, "oh, he didn't like the ice cream we had at home, so I drove to the store and he got to choose"
Our kids only eat candy on Saturdays unless they are on a break from school and we go to the movies, they go to bed the same time on school nights and they are happy kids who behave well. No need to slap them either. Sure, there are kids with issues, but their biggest issue will always be their parents.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
Thank you for saying it, emphatic. It drives me nuts when parents say shit like their kid is hyper all the time or won't settle down or whatever, and they're always eating candy. Take some damn responsibility, holy shit

Yay ! Not parent yet, but I already like the 50's style of this topic.
Maybe because I get to handle other parent's kid all day long as a teacher

I couldn't even imagine being a parent, I'd be the worst role model ever! Although I have to say, the first time I met my younger brothers baby it tripped me out quite a bit. She looks just like we did at that age, like you could practically put a picture of him and I at that age beside one of her and you'd be hard pressed to tell us all apart. Thankfully the missus is on the same page as me about no kids EVAR, but it's kind of cool seeing it from that close a perspective but not having to full on deal with it as actual parents; it was like looking at a little baby me. Shame they live on the other side of the country, I'd like to see them more often.

It annoys me when people complain about "oh when we were kids we got spankings, now kids are spoiled herp derp"
You know what's ten times worse than that? Making them sit in the corner, without any entertainment, for an entire hour. You know what it's called? A timeout. It's a fascinating concept, to be able to punish children without beating them.

Re: Little things that annoy the hell out of you
I hate the mall, you see the things that this thread talks about happen all the time. I hadn't been shopping at a mall for almost two years and after going the other day I probably will not go for another 20 (thanks, Amazon). Loud, howling, screeching, demanding (of their parents and to workers who serve them their bloods' juice, aka ice cream), little devils, on leashes being dragged around whilst on their backs or fronts populate an otherwise relatively quite environment. The other major source of noise is the god awful taste in music these store play, essentially making me leave any shop I wander into.
Also, people that make eye contact with me think I'm a creep if I smile and say hello....whilst they make and ugly face.
I guess thats better than seeing a collection of sheep that would drown if it were raining.
