So does multi monitor support monitors of different resolutions?

Can't wait to do more play testing tonight and see what's up with the new build. But first, I have to work on a project for a client for a couple of hours.

Thus far in my experience, no. I've put it in as a suggestion. Currently what happens is that it defaults to the highest vertical resolution available and stretches across from that. So for my setup in which I have one monitor at 2560x1440 and another at 1920x1080, it only gives me the option of 4480x1440, which cuts off the picture on the 1080p monitor. It also tries to stretch across all monitors if you have more than two (when I have my HDTV plugged in, it then shows 5560x1440 as the resolution). I've put in the suggestion for more options in this regard, so hopefully the adjustment can be made.

That's disappointing, I have a 1920x1080 and a 1600x900. Although my 1080p screen broke recently anyway.

Bit confused about how the leaderboards in AC chronicle mode work; It seems that until I clear a stage myself, the world high score is listed as unknown on the stage select screen, and when I (somehow) managed to set the world high score for two of the first courses, it didn't update the listed world high score.

I'm not sure if this is a glitch I should be reporting, or if there's some mechanic I just don't understand.

Also, it seems like your score doesn't reset if you use a continue?

Will the Vita version be running at 60 FPS?
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

I was able to test with a 16:10 1680x1050 screen & a 16:9 1080 and so long as I selected the 1080 screen as the primary window for AC, it displayed on the 1050 screen but there's a black bar drawn at the top obviously given its aspect ratio. I'll need to try it out more since I only did a quick check but there didn't seem to be a loss of information, it rendered what the screen could display.

Don't know if anyone's talked about this, but I know a few people elsewhere who have had problems with this. Soooo...

I think I figured out how to time the burst counter!

When the boss is about to fire their burst, you get two quick flare ups as a warning that it’s coming. You also get two red spheres that start closing in from the top and bottom of the area where the burst is about to come from on the boss. Right when those spheres touch that area on the boss, I believe that’s the visual cue for when you’re supposed to fire your burst to counter their burst. I’ve tried timing it like this several times, and it’s worked a number of times in a row so far.

If everyone else already knew this, well... then... at least I figured it out on my own

I like that there's a trilogy of 'Abyssal' tracks. 'Ayssal Holic', 'Abyssal Dependency' and now 'Abyssal Withdrawal'. :P

Blackbird@Degica:
For Steam - 12/4.

For PS4/Vita, not sure yet - approval from SCEU has been slower than expected, so the release may be a bit delayed.
I almost missed that he said SCEU.

That's the "sit in front of a large cannon and pray you don't mistime it" method, and generally requires you to be stationary, which is often dangerous in later levels. The "safer" method is the cut-in method, which is harder to describe but has been used by players since the PSP version, and works better for Burst Lasers that are already fired, sweeping, and/or fired at an odd angle (see: Hungry Gluttons etc).

as Friendlyfriend suggested, it doesn't use the highest available resolution, but that of the primary monitor, so you should be fine by just switching the two monitors (logically, not physically).

Well, finished recording and uploading a run on CS mode, also Oruriba:

The game runs like a charm!

I need to experiment a bit with the dual screen setups since I have two different sized monitors and I wonder how that is going to affect things.

That intro: Its super lame that the fighters supposed to be moving in the foreground actually go behind the player craft.

Can someone test this in CS? Burst counters got stupidly easy by SP, it would make sense if they altered the timing to make them more challenging.

The reason why they made it easy in SP is to accommodate the touchscreen, the game would be balls hard otherwise.
If DBCS is a complete arcade port as it should be, then the counter timing will be identical to both DB and DBAC, which is what I'm used to.
In reality, you should know how to do both the cut-in method and the exact-timing method - more so the cut-in method as it's more frequently used.

The cut in timing feels the same as the PSP game to me, its relatively strict but very doable with a little practice.

The port has been running nearly flawlessly for me, apart from a few minor problems. Did a test recording with an external capture card. This new boss seems pretty hard (CS mode spoiler warning) https://youtu.be/mJWeQqw0p10?t=13m52s

CS mode keeps getting better as I try it, there appear to be events that change the map and add some ..interesting levels.

They would announce an event, then a new stage set is available in the Event mode. When the event is over, it's no longer there. Another cool thing to do would be to allow the player to select through all the old Events ;)

It's the same timing as AC. You need some practice to do it, but it's far from impossible.

I was playing around with counter-bursts on the different laser types/ships and it seems with the Genesis ship you can charge/release the laser and just cut across an active laser without any strict timing. Probably the easiest ship to do this with, here's an example I put up.

Just like G-Darius. :)

I love how this is just a complete love letter to the entire series, even with the themed music on certain stages in Chronicle Mode and CS Mode.

They even kept the speech in the Darius 2 introduction for the Second Silver Hawk stage in CS mode. I always wanted a thing called tuna sashimi.

Exactly, on that CS stage it even uses the G-Darius music. I'm really happy with how this game has turned out, it's fantastic.

Ebay has ps4 bundles for $289 if anyone is interested in getting the ps4 version of Darius next week.

Question, the ps4 digital will be out on Monday and not when the psn store updates on Tuesday?

I can't figure out how to counter-burst? Do you use burst manually or place the burst shot? I guess if you do the swooping-in you do it manually by holding the buttone, but it depletes so fast?

Is it possible to quick kill the bosses in the same manner with the Gaiden ship? It has the Black Hole Bomb.

I don't think it's locked in strania, 720p looks more blurry than 1080p. You can go into game and change between resolutions on the fly, just pause at the moment when your character (or an enemy) is at the right or left side of the screen so the menu won't block the view of it and change from 720 to 1080 a few times. Like i said for me they don't look the same, 720 is blurry. They simply didn't made a high resolution textures.
