Is there a marketplace page for the HK version? On the console, it keeps asking me to change the language to Chinese when I try to select a payment option...

Ed: ah, here it is. Couldn't find it earlier. :P

I don't get that, it defaults to PayPal whenever I try to buy stuff on Live via the console. Must be an option somewhere to make paypal the default payment option.

I think it was because I'd never bought anything with the account before (I have a few alternate accounts set up, just for occasional region migration, etc). I managed to set PayPal as the default payment option on the website, though. :)

Thanks for the heads up on this hombres - just downloading the G'Force from HK Marketplace now. Sweet! Worked out at £26.02GBP all in, via Paypal. Ciao!

Really lazy here, but is the soundtrack included in all releases or just the preorders?

First print copies only, but I'm not sure if there even was another printing before the Eschatos + Ginga Force double pack. All copies of that collection include a "best of" CD with music from both games.

Just ordered this through Amazon with some gift card funds, trying to round out my 360 shooter collection. (Think I still need Bullet Soul and maybe there was some witch game as well.) Should I be looking forward to Ginga Force?

It's okay, but personally I'd put it a notch or two below Eschatos; I found certain segments more of a pain than their payoff was worth.

YES!! It's a console shmup so please treat it like one (this could be a negative thing in another situation...) and just have fun beating stages on the various modes if you can. Any STG fan should know how to appreciate this game. It's a huge love letter IMO and the soundtrack is simply phenomenal. If you do happen to enjoy it a lot, it DOES have scores for you to chase. I like to imagine a game like this coming out in the Dreamcast era, it would've blown socks off. But, that's not to its detriment. I quite enjoy the clean look.

I think it's absolutely excellent, though I'd agree it's slightly below Eschatos (though not quite a notch). Eschatos is more "tight" and focused as an arcade game, and a bit better balanced. Ginga Force is amazing fun, but a bit more experimental.

Wow, that does look helpful. Thanks, CRP. Game is set to arrive on Monday. I believe there's the final college football game of the year that night, but I'm expecting a blowout. So maybe I'll be enjoying this already Monday.

I'm sorry to revive such an old thread, but I started playing Ginga Force about two weeks ago on Steam, and I have a bunch of things to say about the game.

I didn't play Score Attack thus far, just Story mode. I'm currently at 65% completion, roughly.

On hard, the game becomes absolutely mental. And not in a good way. All of the weapons available simply feel inadequate, nothing seems to do any kind of respectable damage. The game becomes absurdly overcluttered with a perpetual torrent of projectiles, enemies, credits, and those dumb blue crystals you need to collect lest your wimpy weapons power down even further. Add extra stage hazards, objectives and distracting anime characters shouting all the time on top of that, and it becomes a borderline comical colossal clusterfuck. Qute went way, WAY to overboard.

The only feasible way to make any kind of progress is to replay a stage over and over and fucking over until you collected enough extends to die and respawn through the entire stage, hoping it will unlock a somewhat decent weapon this time.

Also the credits and shop system is quite redundant. Paying for the stuff is never the problem, since you have ground the stage so much you always have cash to spare anyway.

I'd say it's still a good game overall. But it's obvious they realized they fucked up, since Natsuki Chronicles does it way better.

Yeah, hard mode is stupid and I dropped it. Easy and normal are mostly pretty fine, though, and I also feel that Natsuki is overall a weaker game due to its less interesting stage design. I do need to go play Natsuki's arcade mode, though.
