The shmups forum is a Golden Corral to him, and he will eat all he can until the staff makes him leave, or he dies in a pool of his own vomit and excrement.

Epic summertime thread revival :D

Anyways I would vote for Transbot on the Master System.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8kzmHCYnSQg

I remember having this when I was a kid and thinking it was toss back then. The game only has two levels which is barely filled with any kind of threatening enemy let alone bullets. Plus the game never seems to end, it just loops endlessly.

On the plus side there is one boss in the game and it always reminded me of the AT-ST from Return of the Jedi. That and the fact the game had a stunning plot

Huh, that actually resembles the shmup minigames in Action 52, which were about as easy and pointless.

Transbot has the best video game cover I've ever seen.

I've had it in my collection forever, but never played it.

The cover for "My Hero" is a good contender as well, though.

I agree with the list bar Gaia Seed , it's not worth the price it demands now but it's far from bad .

With this current list, you may as well put up Touhou (as a series); this isn't a joke. The Retro Force vid is down, and Super Mate Mate Laser really shouldn't be up there.

I like Axelay, and I have never read a review of it. That would be just plain stupid to only like a game because of positive reviews. If that were true, this whole forum would be "OMG Ikaruga"

This is supposed to be a list of shmups that generally suck, objectively. I believe it was originally compiled because the OP realized that most shmups tend to be fun, even if they are not top of their class.

So, this list, from what I've gathered, is supposed to be shmups that are pretty damn tough to enjoy on almost any level.

You have to give Video System Co. credit for creating the only simultaneous 3-player arcade shmup PCB with that particular name title + not to mention you're given auto-fire capability from the get-go/start of the game. Sure, I've played Turbo Force/Hyper Force at a local arcade when it was regarded as a "New Game" with a sign placed on top of the cab to denote it as such back in 1993. Big difference playing it on real hardware as opposed to giving it a spin on Mame.

That would be Amon Goeth, as played by Ralph Fiennes in Schindler's List. I'm not sure I want one of the most notorious Nazi death camp officers in my company when playing Bakraid....
