Looks quite sharp despite being only 480i on a dual sync 15kHz/24kHz Nanao MS9 arcade monitor setup. Fellow shmupper viletim has mentioned that his Scart to Jamma adpater only supports 480i using the optional Euro Scart or Japanese RGB input from said gaming console.speedlolita wrote:I too want one. Didn't realise how much of a fuss plugging stuff in was without VGA.
Must be even worse without 31kHz monitor support.
did you try the brightness (not the big contrast knob)? it's small and requires a small flathead screwdriver.Joe T. wrote:Hey guys,
I recently bought one of these from Brentsg. I just tried out my Saturn with it today (I don't have scart cables for any other systems yet). It works perfectly and looks great on my Aero City. However, I tried it on my Super Neo 29 Candy, and I'm getting sound, but just barely getting any video, and the video that is coming through is extremely dark. I've tried the resistor connected to 5v and ground with the same result. I'm wondering if maybe it's the scart cable, even though it works fine on the Aero city. Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
The reason it looked fine on the Aero is probably because it has a clamp circuit, but the Neo 29 does not. So, you shouldn't have to adjust it back for the Aero (it will lock-on to the brightness). Monitors like your Neo and my Egret 29 are the reason this adapter needed to exist in the first place.Joe T. wrote:Well I'll be damned, Antron.
I'm tardo and didn't even think about that. Just made an adjustment, and it's working perfectly! Thanks!!!!!
I appreciate it.

Yellow means that you've connected red and green video, but not BLUE. (Yellow+blue = white, where yellow = red + green).drunkninja24 wrote:Anyone else had an issue with off colors on video from SCART? When I first got the adapter, everything looked fine. But I recently hooked up my PS2 via SCART for the first time in a while, and the video now looks way yellow. I have video coming in from an Emotia straight to the screw terminals as well, and that looks good, it's just video from SCART that seems to be an issue. It happens on both my PS2 and my Saturn (tried both to make sure it wasn't a cable issue).
Yeah, I may pick another one up here soon. Would there be any issues (besides loose wires of course) with running it the way I am right now though? I certainly don't want to damage anything.antron wrote:drunkninja24 wrote:Eh, got a roundabout solution. looking at the circuit diagram that means you are bypassing the blue amp.
also, remembering back in this tread you are not the only person who had one color refuse to connect via SCART. before it turned out to be that SCART cable and the SCART input not playing nicely. it resolved with a new cable (even though the old was fine on a TV)
When a single video channels stops working the most likey cause is the either the associated input coupling capacitor or the video amp IC itself. According to my records, you've got a board with the dodgy caps... ah, I should explain what this is about for the benifit of others.drunkninja24 wrote:Yeah, I may pick another one up here soon. Absolutely.sn0zc0r3 wrote:Not to be a pest or anything, but are there any plans for another run of these? Any kind of update?
That's interesting. I could tell right away there was less detail in the blue-deficient image, but it's subtle (looks like a loss of contrast i.e. an out-of-focus photograph). Much more so than the green change.viletim wrote:Also your blue video will be disproportional to the red and green, though you may not notice because Your Eyes Suck at Blue.
