I just waggled my way to this score…

Sonic R - Team Oldschoolers - 1,656,700 - S13 - Smart - CCC2/PS2

My arm is tired now and I am taking a break from this. I'll try some more later tonight…

DghjbHJDGHJhj. The universe was bent on me not increasing my score. 8 credits just under my old score, then when I had 3.5mil with 3 extends in stage 16, MAME crashed. (might have been wine I play MAME in, actually, but whatever). Yet, I have managed to outdo the fabric of space-time itself and improved my score... by a whopping ~100k.

dex - Team Sweet Tacos - 3563100 - 17 - Smart - MAME (World)

Scoreboard updated

Also, remember, just over 7 hours left. I am going to post the new week and update the scoreboard one final time about 2 hours after mike announces the end of this week: I have an appointment at a doctor and don't want to do an all-nighter, and I don't want to wake up THAT early. So there.

Finally, check if your score hasn't been missed & is on the scoreboard correctly. Also, as it happened with sandlegs, make sure there isn't a double of you due to different capitalisation (I guess my scoreboard for next week should check for that) or perhaps a typo in the nick submitted with the score.

This is as far as I go.. not too shabby, but at least I broke the 1M. Love the game, don't have time and concentration for it :(

I started with CCC on the PS2, but for some reason there was a noticeable LAG when playing with my HRAP (?!). I had to switch to mame. I only learned about the 4th boss glitch, wiggling and the benefits of choosing Smart and Machine gun too late... and Ryu never gave me a 1up, that stingy basterd! Lesson learned too late: don't shoot the pod carrier copters in Stage 7 (?), they release barely visible purple circles that haunt you for all eternity and deplete your life stock :((

I wish I'd have had the motivation to play more than a few half decent runs of this. Interesting game nonetheless.

input record (if you really want to watch that "run"). No autofire used.

I may try one or two other runs before the deadline ...

Didnt play this enough and for some reason I couldnt set up autofire, the only OS X keymapper I could find had a rapidfire function but it couldnt work on any of the MAME clients I have.

Okay, kinda ashamed to post a score well behind the 1m barrier :( However it's better to post something right now, just in case connection goes wild or something.

I'd really like to be better at this game since I'm somewhat fond of it... I hope to catch up some Oldschooler buddy during the night...

Not a bad jump for twenty minutes, Turrican. I'm assuming you got the tips from the other members of our team? Be sure to read them, as they helped me out with getting my score higher more quickly in the beginning.
