There were two Truxton incidents back then.
There was the TRUXTON TANTRUM where Mills played for approx 11 hours straight on 1 credit (even 1 life

), then put his fist through the screen upon death.
The other one was when, as you mention, the Chinatown Arcade manager switched a run of Truxton off on me 5 hours into the run with max lives remaining. I returned later that day with a crew of 10 guys and the manager locked himself into the cashbox, fearing for his life
