I'm amazed (and glad) that you made it back in one piece!

The 18th is best for me.

Welcome back to Blighty, Skykid! I'm totally up for drinks on the 24th, we should all go to Wong Kei for old times' sake too.

Right, I'm back from Boomtown, and catching up with reality slowly.

As for those dates - work shit means I might have to rethink, but we will meet soon!

I'll be keen to see that documentary when it's wrapped, so do let us know DEL.

And you're about Skykid! How long for? If I don't have time for a full meet on the 24th, we should at least meet for drinks! With you and DEL back in the UK, it's like the clocks went back a few years!

And when are people next off to HoG? I've got Gamescom in Hamburg next week, so silly busy, but well up for some HoG soon (and the Edge spread in HoG was ace. I only wish I'd got to pen it!

Is there any retrogame shops in London? Will visit Hog someday during our week of stay which starts on Friday, but would be nice to check shops too if there is any?

There is Retro Game Base down in Streatham, I think that's the only one left.

I'll let you know.
I've also done an interview for the French Crew with Radigo. I'll let you know about the debut of that one as well.

Today is my last day in London. I'll see if I can get away to HoG this evening.
Starkey tells me that since I asked to have Border Down in HoG its been surprisingly popular and remains in one or two Naomis.
The EDGE spread on HoG should be good for the arcade's business.

That is sad. It's always been quite a small scene in the UK (3s), and most of us are getting older by now, and life can get really harsh here these days it seems. Used to play his brother's Hugo quite a bit over GGPO a few years back. He must be devastated, poor lad :(

Ah shame you didn't make it down in the end. I took an inpromptu trip to HoG yesterday, finally beat that damn Ikaruga on normal =]

Haha yes I heard Starkey recommending Border Down to a couple of arcade veterans.

My mates and I have begun yelling "ohhh border DOWNNNN" every time one of us died...

I made a pitstop on the way down to HoG and it took longer than expected.
Glad you ALLed Ikaruga. I'm guessing 18mil?

I'm back in Disneyland now, after a month in London. EuroDisney sucks! I will move back to London as soon as possible.

Went to Hog yesterday with my friend and it was a blast. Games there were mostly fighting games but the owner was nice enough to put up the games we requested which he had in his collection. Trizeal I had not played before so that was interesting to try out. Too bad most of the Naomis were broken so everytime we wanted to play a vert shmup the game had to be changed to the next one. The most pleasurable (addicting beyong limits) gaming experience however was Money Idol Exchanger with it fast paced puzzle action it is super fun playing together with your mate so in the end we just ended up playing it hours straight and forgetting about the shmups :D.

We have a feeling we should visit it again before our flight back to Finland so I hope we can make it again with our limited time, if someone could bring there CAVE shmups it would be rad. Anyways I wish this place all the best and hope they can keep on going for years to come.

MAH BAFDAY!

Itching to see everyone, and my jet lag is finally starting to subside a little, so in three days I should be in good spirits to drink spirits (well, beer, actually.)

I turn 17 on the 24th of the month, which be Saturday - is anyone available on this perfect non-working afternoon to meet in Casi... somewhere in London?

Plenty to talk about! Please let me know. Otherwise, options are available like dis:

1: My place in Highgate for SDOJ on cinematic projector stylee mid-afternoon to early evening, then BEER.

2: My place in Highgate for PCB's wat I bought recently: Nostradamus, Hacha Mecha, Thunder Cross 2, Strider 2, Bank Panic (joy!)

2: BEER

3: BEER and then SLEEP

Your votes count!

There's only one birthday on the 24th!

Let's see if others can attend. Realistically, I'm disregarding all numbers when it comes to birthdays from now on, it's ageist. That includes dates too.

Sounds positively smoking.

If you want to start with a gaming buzz before venturing out to exotic drinkeries, let's find out who's down for the schedule.

I'd say a 12pm start should be sufficient for gaming hours, we can get going by 5:30/6pm. If the weather's good, there are some nice pubs in the famous and picturesque Highgate Village, just up the road and across from Terry Gilliam's mansion.

Please note down if you can attend here asap! I have no UK mobile number currently, so if folks want to send some texts out to the usual suspects, that would help speed things up.

Sounds cool to me (maybe I'll show up around 1 tho) and I'll hassle JDE and MX7 about it. PM me your address?

Oh it's soooo good, been wanting a board forever! Mastercello came to the rescue. Hacha Mecha is really intriguing too, very score based.

Gah, no Mike! :(

Need at least four peeps I think, just so it's crowded and uncomfortable. Where's Chi?

Chi, what the fuck? That's graphic and slightly repulsive while simultaneously worrying. You ok?

Well it looks like there may not be enough attendees to make a gaming session on Sat afternoon viable, so we might just end up in central anyway. JDE? Spudgy? Anyone else?
