Its 10 on the weekend but 5 or 7 on the week evenings.
I spent 4 hours with Starkey on Monday. I'm really proud of him and his friends who have set the place up. The place needs supporting.
Live stream of a Pork 2-ALL and some Border Down red route play (very rusty on that) tomorrow evening.

Where are you moving to? (And why?)
Essex and for a full time teaching job. Nothing too exotic! Still only half an hour from Liverpool Street though.

Are you going to keep DDP there for a little longer then Spadgy? Really cool it's so popular!

I should be navigating the post-apocalyptic industrial wasteland that is Acton this afternoon!

Yeah - I'd asked Mark if I could have it back, but if it's going down well it should stay!

So, I'm still on for tonight. I can't wait to see how it's evolved. I've been three times but always right in the early days (relative to now, at least).

However - August 3rd... A games company just totally fucked up. I'd said yes to a trip to Belarus to see a game in Minsk, and for weeks they've been saying I'm back on the Friday 2nd. Just got my flight details, and I fly back on the 3rd.

Could people make it if it were an evening gathering? Maybe from 6 or 7pm until late?

Hey everyone, am thinking of coming down to London as I haven't been for almost a year now.
Thinking of around the middle of September.

It never is any pressure. We've both been playing in arcades in front of small crowds for decades.
Simeon offered a live stream, but he doesn't know how to rotate the stream display, so I just opted to leave it. I still did a 300mil+ Final Boss of 2nd loop Pork run on a Viewlix. Didn't like the wobbly Sanwa much but it was fine once I got past the multiple restarts on ST1.
Rusty as hell on Border Down, but I can see myself getting back to ST6D next week when I revisit HoG.

-----------------
Smraedis - Come on down. HoG has a lot to offer and needs Players' support.
-----------------
It was good to meet MX7, Blinge doing great stuff on Ikaruga and Spadgy & Rupert H.

I will be doing moar HoG evenings on Monday, Tues, Thurs and Friday this week.

CHI - Let me know your timings this week.....OBEY

Is there a bar at HoG? This is inconsequential to me but I am curious.

I can definitely make it in the evening. Is everyone else still up for a Twin Eagle: Revenge Joe's Brother scoring contest on Saturday the 3rd?
Will you be broken down, or will the table turn around? We'll see! I'm sorry, but it had to be done.

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been off the radar. I had deadline, and then this press trip (I'm currently in Belarus (a dictatorship I'm told!) seeing World of Tanks) with almost no internet.

So, Saturday - I really want to do it, but here's the thing...

The guy hosting our trip just had to rush home (family bereavement), and thus move flights around and stuff, so three of us are currently a bit nervous about how to sort making our flight home (that's a simplified version of the story, because suddenly we're having to go back via Warsaw blah, blah, blah).

So, I might make it home in good time... or not.

And I'll only know how my journey is going by about 2pm UK time tomorrow. I really don't want to, but it might be fairer on you guys to cancel. Sorry this has come this late in the day, but such is the scenario.

But if I do cancel, I really want to sort a new date, as I want us to catch up in person regularly again and the first meet and subsequent HoG trip was a great start.

Anyway, I'm back online late this evening, so let's work it out! I'm still open to doing it tomorrow night, but only if you guys are happy knowing I might have to cancel last minute (so early afternoon). I think I should make it back on time...

How was all this. Wicked that everyone's meeting up more again!

People of London,

I'm in town until Sunday and I was wondering which shmups do they have right now at HoG?

My schedule for the rest of Friday and Saturday is pretty full, so it'd be great to know if there's something I'd want to put a few credits into before making the trip.

No worries spadgy, hope your trip back goes smoothly.
deexor wrote:Which shmups do they have right now at HoG?
They definitely have Border Down, DoDonPachi and Ikaruga at the moment. Also there's a Viewlix hooked up to an Xbox 360, so you can bring a shmup of your choice to play on that. Not sure what region their Xbox 360 is though.

No, but they are considering installing one - fingers crossed...

I have heard that it isn't uncommon for new arcade venues to supplement their income with a bar which makes a bit of sense, although I would become considerably worse at the games as the night progressed XD

Thanks for the info, but a visit wasn't in the cards this time. I'll have to set aside some time for the place the next time I'm around.

I'll be down HoG on weekday evenings this week, except Tuesday and Friday.
Friday night was good. Sendo filmed a 2 hour interview with me n'CHI and some Pork 2nd loop play on that Viewlix.
I read the 4 page spread in EDGE magazine today.

CHI - I'll let you know about HoG for tomorrow night.

Well - I made it back from Belarus safely. Crazy country; my first dictatorship visit, but I got to ride on tanks and fire AK-47s into a feel with no instruction, monitoring or any kind of safety procedures and equipment, so I was bloody delighted!

I'm about to go off to a festival from Thursday (Boomtown), so in terms of a meet at my house, how about Sunday 18th or Sunday 25th of August? Any good for you lot? I just got Caladrius too, so we can give that a run for its money).

Blinge & Mills - Sendo is doing an arcade documentary and wanted to catch me for an interview for a couple of years now. So we finally managed to record a couple of hours the other night.
