Re: current favorite albums

Lone is my favorite producer lately... throwback but modern, crazy percussive rhythms and weird pads!
That is Galactic Dancing

I'm always here, just not necessarily posting much these days outside of off topic, eh.
Can't wait to get together at the next Chicago meet, I had a blast hanging out with you!! Glad to have some other greenery heads there.
Might even play some shmups next time.

Krallice - Dimensional Bleedthrough. This track is my favourite right now, but they're all killer.

Re: current favorite albums
Masahiro Yuge- Fire Shark arcade OST & Truxton PC-Engine soundtrack
Fire Shark Stage 5 - "From The Sun To Me" (youtube)
My favorite one in the game, and probably out of all Yuge's work. The Genesis 4M cart version of this tune isn't bad but sounds very flat compared to the arcade original.
Truxton PC-Engine soundtrack (youtube)
And this is probably the best version of Truxton's BGM... EVER.

Deep Sea Arcade - Outlands
Also the new Silversun Pickups album, Neck of the Woods, has been made available for streaming today through Soundcloud and has since made it's way to Spotify. I've given it two listens, it's pretty good. I think I like it more than Swoon but not as much as Carnavas, we'll see how it grows on me.

oh man!
mesh control posted this Grimes song lately. It is amazing. I ordered the album yesterday.
Lone is awesome too.
More of this please!
I'm still in search of that electronic DJ that i think was from japan and had a similar style like lone. The dj somewhat reminded me of Manabu Namiki. I think i will never find it again
Anyway, maybe you all like Turbo Fruits, which is my currently favourite album (MAMA’S MAD COS I FRIED MY BRAIN):

Re: current favorite albums
Got a stylus finally, so have gone on a record buying binge...
Deerhoof - Reveille - Absolute sonic perfection. Pretty much the best album by the best band in the world.
Richard Strauss - Elektra - I'm a bit of an opera virgin when it comes topper as that aren't Tristan and Isolde, so have been trying to widen my horizons. This is wonderfully overwrought.
Wolfmangler - Dwelling in a Dead Raven for the Glory of Crucified Wolves - An old favourite. No distortion, no screaming, no guitars and sparse percussion somehow makes for the most oppressive black metal record ever recorded. Fucking evil.
A-Ha - Hunting High and Low - Great pop
Black Sabbath - Paranoid - Still the perfect album to knock back a few cans to
Debussy - Assorted piano works - nice comp with the Arabesques, the Children's Corner suite etc. I've got a lot of his later orechestrations on record, but there's a charming naivity to his piano work.

Re: current favorite albums
In an LP only phase.
Togawa Jun - Suki Suki Daisuki - Pop with knives in. Amazing vocal range. The title track alone is officially the best thing ever committed to tape, with its fantastically bombastic operatic pre-chorus and fabulously snotty refrain. I love reminding people there's only one vocalist on this album. She's just obscenely talented.
REBECCA - Wild And Honey - Pop sans knives, but similarly perfect. They never broke the US, which is a tragedy. John Hughes needs to be reanimated just to allow this album to score a party scene in one last film about middle-class teenagers and how their negligible problems really fucking matter.
Beach Boys - Best Of - Couldn't be any later to the party, but this is pop at its most straightforward, stripped of any extraneous pretention that bypasses your brain entirely. How is it possible to write a song as perfect as Do You Wanna Dance? No idea.

Horrid Cross - Demo III - I lost the first demo (and a bunch of other awesome Florida punk) when I sold my truck a couple years ago and I haven't heard anything since. I was listening to Divisions earlier and decided to check out what I missed. Hot shit. Evan rules.
American Snakeskin - Turquoise for Hello - fuck yes, drugs.
Valerie Dore - The Night EP or whatever - this song fucking rules
Intense - The Genesis Project EP

Incunabula (especially Bike and 444), Amber, and Tri Repetae by Autechre. Clipper is pure bliss, and so is Montreal.
Starting to get into D&B and Suqarepusher, and Sapz introduced me to The Mantle by Agalloch, so this is a nice period of musical exploration.
