OT:

RFL, Love Merci is the place indeed.

I don't know what's more amusing: the fact that there's a shop that actually sells used panties, or the fact that you actually know where it is. ^_-
I've actually been in there a few times, the first time was to buy some "Love Cannon" condoms, but when a friend was visiting from out of town we decided to explore it further. Turns out that the first floor is the place for couples to buy stuff, whereas the upper floors are devoted to the lonely perverts. This is where you can buy used panties, porno, and plastic replica vaginas. One box proudly boasted "it's like a real pussy is fucking your cock!" I'll have to take their word for it.

Sounds more like retailers are respectiing the exchange rate to me. Actually, $2180 is more than 248,000 yen, so they're not totally respecting it yet.

The official Mushi Futari site has been updated with the 'system' details:

http://www.cave.co.jp/gameonline/mushih ... index.html

They do not call the C button "rapier", they call it "full auto" in one part and "laser" in another.

So far, they only list Original and Maniac under the 'modes'. I really hope there's an Ultra mode in there...

Maybe Maniac mode has 2 loops this time. I'd like that, just for a change of pace.

Just got excellentcom's new pricelist, for those interested with a big wad of cash, they're selling Mushi Futari kits for $1988. Not bad for a brand new release. I'll wait until it drops some more before I buy it though (I don't have 2 grand to plunk down on a game at the moment).

I spent the afternoon at HEY for the release of the game and noticed a few changes.

Original seemed to not be quite as punishing, plus they now had a 1-up in stage 5 and extends at 20 and 60 million points. One of the patterns on the second boss that people had found a hole in during the loke test was now altered, with added bullets. I only made it to the third boss, but I saw two guys get to the final boss with a couple spare lives in stock after just a few tries. It ate them so fast that both of them laughed at the absurdity of some of the patterns. Original isn't the hardest thing in the world, but harder than the first game's for sure and feels more involved.

Maniac had some wild patterns and beat up anyone who dared to challenge.

No Ultra...but maybe there are loops.

Overall, still a great game and helps in washing out that nasty Pink Sweets aftertaste.

OMG!!! I want your job, would I have to sell crack, prostitution rings?!
Either way if I can afford PCBs at that cost I'm in.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

The evidence is pointing to both Original and Maniac modes having 2 loops. People who have credit fed through to the end say the credits do not roll, implying you need to 1CC the first loop to enter the 2nd loop, and only upon beating that loop will you see the credits. Will have to wait for the first Japanese player to 1CC the first loop. Maniac is supposed to be ridiculously difficult from the 3rd boss on. This game could be a new Ketsui/DDPDOJ in terms of difficulty.

Wow, I kinda like this idea. And what about that meter in Maniac mode? Do you know something new? I won't like a DDP-style thing...

A few people in Japan have already finished the game on one credit. I am no expert in Japanese, but it seems there is only one loop. Here are two guys who have finished the game already:

InsertCredit posted a link a bit back to this video, which I don't think has been posted here yet...most notably, perhaps, it includes images of a rather, er, big-boned woman who I assume is Aki and Palm's ma, probably the final boss. Reminds me of the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland...

The thing I'm most curious/puzzled about, however, is a video put up by the same user titled "madara PV"...I can't tell what the heck it's supposed to be depicting, it looks like a whole jumble of Cave stuff, featuring a rather stupid-looking guy in a tank. Anyone have any idea what it is?

The big guy in the tank (named "Madara" I believe) is the fourth boss from Espgaluda 2. The music accompanying the video (the one titled "mushihimesama2 pv") sounds like Mushi Futari's stage1 BGM.

Well some of that footage is from Espgaluda 2. Dunno what's going on with that whole video to be honest. Can anyone read the kanji?

That video doesn`t make sense to me either. I haven`t played Espgaluda 2, are those the regular patterns? Some look much harder than the ones I have seen in superplays.

It's a doujin video, most likely the same guy that made the "Wehha" ESPGaluda II parody video. Wehha, Madara's nickname, is taken after his "Wehhahahaha" laugh. About half of the text is taken from the Mushi Futari promo video, the rest was edited in.

Shinju means pearl, but in the Mushi world, I think it's those things that float all over the place (like in the title screen of the original).

I think the last line is a piss-take on the original game's ending, where Aki says, "I'm glad I met you".

Trans:
A different time than now
Reco, the young girl who became a god
and a young boy, Palm, who rode a dragon...
This is there story
WEHHA
A fat old woman...
Shinju fall far away from the forrest
Their memories cross paths

Their journey,
connects their thoughts.

Mushihime-sama Wehha
"It's okay if I'm not here, right?".

Yep. 4th stage boss -- Madara. Normal patterns. His last pattern fills the screen in kakusei mode.
