Everybody please note, This is whats known as a Bunch of Tossers
Aside from GWG, I can't think of any other recent poor conversions, unless you're really THAT concerned with scaling? Anyway, these ARE just nits you have about graphics and not gameplay. You're saying the shittiness of the port makes it not fun. Not true.Kron wrote:Its most deffinately not hella fun playing a port as shit as GWG and having to look at the ropey frame rate and fuzzy badly rendered badly framed display.
The port is an absolute load of arse which compounds Taito's recent lazyness, Its no wonder the last batch of PS2 shmups have all had poor conversions when the majority of people seemingly don't care whats put infront of them.
Well, if graphics don't matter to me, then it's not really a problem, is it?Kron wrote:No its "nits" I have about lazy ports not graphics, If people continue to defened lazy ports then thats all we are going to get from certain developers.
People here have incredibly low standards.
Please cite the games in particular that have had poor ports lately (besides GWG, which made PSX Viewpoint look totally playable)...Kron wrote:No its "nits" I have about lazy ports not graphics, If people continue to defened lazy ports then thats all we are going to get from certain developers.

You've missed the point yet again, Lazy ports are not lazy due to a lack of extras but due to the way they run and display natively.Rob wrote:For the dozenth time, not buying a game is not the same as telling a company you wanted a gallery mode. Also, I'd be willing to bet Takumi is responsible for their own port, and Takumi games are not a large enough market to play the "we demand better" game seeing as how there's been one shooter release since 2001. You aren't doing anyone any favors, really.
Let's talk about Radilgy's limited edition phone card.
With bitmapped games, this may or may not be possible without slicing up graphics (for instance, the wide-res CPS2 games)... it's not like it's dropping frames or ripping like a bad emulation or something. You've missed the point yet again, Lazy ports are not lazy due to a lack of extras but due to the way they run and display natively.
Radirgy is a good game, and I respect Milestone for sticking to a decent price for it. It doesn't have the extras of Under Defeat or Ibara but comes at a tag of $10-15 less than those two. You get what you pay for, a timely arcade perfect release, much easier to swallow than the old Neo Geo days. *-neoKingbuzzo wrote:I definately enjoy Radirgy over Under Defeat.
I'd pay $60 for Under Defeat, but not for Radilgy... If I could find it somewhere for $30 or under, I'd buy it. It just doesn't seem like a $60 game to me. It's a definite improvement from Bossfight Demo. ...I mean Chaos Field. However, seeing as Radilgy can barely compete (IMHO) with some top doujin shooters, such as the Touhou games, Angeraze 2, and many others, Milestone should perhaps invest in the PC Doujin shmup market, and sell many copies for $20 or so each, rather than make amateurish doujin games for the Dreamcast and sell fewer copies for a higher price.neoalphazero wrote:Radirgy is a good game, and I respect Milestone for sticking to a decent price for it. Um... yes, there is plenty amateurish about Radilgy.Herr Schatten wrote:There's nothing amateurish about Radirgy. Please stop justifying your "evaluation copies" of games.Zweihander wrote:</probable flamebait>

Even if there is, you should still stop justifying your "evaluation copies" of games.Zweihander wrote:Um... yes, there is plenty amateurish about Radilgy.Herr Schatten wrote:There's nothing amateurish about Radirgy. C'mon, Milestone, unless you can compete with Cave, G.Rev, Takumi, Skonec, or Alfa System, don't bother putting your games on a console. Compete with <i>other doujin games</i> on the PC market, and you may surpass expectations instead of repeatedly leaving something to be desired. Try harder, and you might be on-par with ZUN!If you make phenomenal sales there, then you'll know you're ready to compete with the big names.

I agree 100%. I really like the soundtrack.Kingbuzzo wrote:I definately enjoy Radirgy over Under Defeat.
call me crazy, but it may have something to do with me not having any ties to the oldskool shmups.
even ordered the OST
