What is the Cabinet: 006 under the Arcade Mode option? Are you able to select the patch/version of the arcade release?Blackbird wrote:I was blown away when I started testing it, looks gorgeous in person. The people who got to play DBAC in the arcades before now are super lucky!

I put up two short videos this morning with the fps counter on. Played on i7-4790 CPU,GTX 750Ti 2GB GPU,12 GB Ram,Windows 8 64 Bit using Mad Catz TE2 (PS4). Game runs fantastically well for me and looks beautiful in motion.

Oh yeah, I'd heard half of this stuff before, but the new tracks sound fantastic too. Wasn't expecting much in this regard, so it's a really nice surprise.Zaarock wrote:The tracks starting from Departure are from DBAC EX and came with a limited disc on the Zuntata 25th anniversary collection iirc. I had assumed most of the soundtrack would be carried over from DBAC, so it's heartening to hear so much original material!

I hope the AC mode still has the original 'Photosynthesis Suite', though - that was some jaw-dropping stuff.
Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (Windows/PS4/Vita)
It's not explained at the moment, but from what I've figured out with someone else involved in testing, it seems to be linked to the saving of Chronicle Mode data in AC. You can choose a cabinet number from a list, and everyone on that cabinet number contributes to the same unlocks on Chronicle mode.CStarFlare wrote:What is the Cabinet: 006 under the Arcade Mode option? Ah, so it's kind of a community unlocking mechanism? Interesting.
DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (Windows/PS4/Vita)
I can *only* read it as taking no hits. Referring to losing a life as damage would be very strange phrasing. One bullet equals death, unless you have a shield. That's the only measurable damage gauge.Observer wrote:Well, if "No damage" means you can still take shots with the shield then it should be fine, you have some leeway. (It would be roughly a 1LC) NOW, if it means nothing can touch you in the entire run? Oh boy.
As for how to deal with it, I guess maybe you'd save your burst meter exclusively for generating beams to block bullets and forget scoring. Still can't see it happening for me. I've 1LC'd most routes in Dariusburst (with plenty of shield abuse), but not even a scratch GTB is frightening.

What's the timing for countering the boss lasers? I'm getting chewed up everytime I go for one.

Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (Windows/PS4/Vita)
Does Counterbursting in CS still work by activating your Burst right after the enemy activates his and having both collide eachother, or can you just make your Burst collide with the enemy's Burst at any moment to Counterburst, like in Second Prologue?
That precise-timing Counterburst is why I always preferred the Beam Dueling from G-Darius, it's like I lose ARM every single time I try to Counterburst.

You have to time it so the laser KINDA hits you.PepsimanVsJoe wrote:What's the timing for countering the boss lasers? I'm getting chewed up everytime I go for one.
I did a gameplay video and delisted it here, but this shows a successful counterburst - https://youtu.be/TwrxsWxqbfw?t=170
The little metronome style audio warning is the perfect timing you need to press the button. So your timing needs to be perfectly on the "blip, blip, burst" with the button being pressed the moment the burst fires. If done correctly, the laser will hit you for a split second but you'll return it and take no ARM damage.
You'll notice however that I royally screw up every other counterburst from that point onwards. It isn't easy to be consistent with.

Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (Windows/PS4/Vita)
If you can't do what Vally explained (and showed), you can easily move vertically towards the enemy's already fired Burst and fire yours as soon as you fly into it, or a split second earlier.PepsimanVsJoe wrote:What's the timing for countering the boss lasers? It's easier to take ARM damage this way, though, and there's no room for error while trying to get the no-damage QUZ trophy/achievement.
Don't worry if you fail a lot, it took me plenty of time to learn how to counterburst successfully, and only using save-states on my mobile phone's PSP emulator. Now I can almost do it with my eyes closed. Okay, not really.

Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (Windows/PS4/Vita)
Out of curiosity, anyone know if there's something specific that locks out players from joining midgame in AC mode?
Normally the top of the screen will flash "press start" during gameplay, but sometimes it says "Private Play" instead.

In the waiting screen you can hit up or down to change your game to private mode, disallowing mid-game join.

Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (Windows/PS4/Vita)
So here's the deal with the cabinets:
When you play the game, you can choose which "cabinet" you're playing on. While you're playing CS Mode, you have access to different worlds. As players on the same cabinet as you "liberate" worlds, you also unlock and get access to them. It will also track who's got the highest score on each world. So basically each "cabinet" is kind of like a different competitive region that you share with other players.
It's an interesting feature that I don't completely understand yet myself, but that's the gist of it.

That sounds hella cool actually. Btw, Blackbird some feedback that I left is regarding the Spanish translation. For instance, the word "Cabinet" is poorly translated. -_-Blackbird wrote:So here's the deal with the cabinets:

As for Event mode, this was an option in the Arcade version that let you download and play online missions - I think it's functions have been largely replaced by the CS Mode and Cabinet system that's going on now.
Yeah, I'll be updating test doc shortly. Lots of stuff going on in the community this afternoon.

I would be very excited if Event Mode would be brought back for the ports. The arcade events were super exciting.

How exactly do they work? I've never had an opportunity to play with the Arcade myself, so it would be helpful to have more information.

Came across this English user's guide pdf for the arcade version but explains most of the mechanics of what items do, scoring and ship differences etc. Thought it might be useful to some.

Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (Windows/PS4/Vita)
i've tried with dual monitors, couldn't see any tearing. it seems to run really well, tried all the different multi-monitor options in the config program. the only thing i noticed was because my TV doesn't support 1920x1200 (which is the resolution of the other screen) causing the bottom of the screen to be missing on the TV, it's only black border that's missing. i'll try and get two monitors the same size and resolution going at the weekend.Fudoh wrote:Has somebody tried a multi-monitor setup yet ? I'd be interested to hear if v-sync is handled correctly. On two monitor setups the two displays usually don't run in 100% sync. MAME creates different v-sync rates for all attached monitors to ensure tearing free playback on all screens. When a game just maximizes the output (basically just seeing one large display) it can usually just v-sync to one screen and in result the secondary displays shows some tearing.
all the buttons on a USB saturn pad remap ok too.
Re: DARIUS BURST CHRONICLE SAVIOURS (Windows/PS4/Vita)
As someone who rinsed the arcade version, my impressions of the gameplay footage is... pure awesome. Lots of really exciting new stuff in there, remixed stage orders, the crab boss is great, and some of the tracks are amazing.
I love the look of the new first stage's water wall, and that orbital laser barrage is just immense. Can't wait!
Told all you mofos this would get ported, pessimists! And here it is, with all the features we ever could have wanted.
