Also, I need to steal samples from the ROMs, there's a pretty nice bass sample and the string-y instrument is nice...
Speaking of Cave, is the Ketsui Arrange Album any good? I'm currently downloading it to give it a listen.

Everyone should check out the soundtrack for the iPod touch game Lightning Fighter. It's a great game, similar to Raiden. I even got in touch with the studio who made it and asked them if they could release the music for the game, and they did! Check out the previews on iTunes! https://itunes.apple.com/album/lightnin ... mpt=uo%3D1 For a Taiwanese made shmup, the soundtrack is absolutely beautiful, and so is the gameplay! If I get money, I will purchase it and upload the songs to my Youtube channel.

Still playing GundeadliGne. Starting to get used to getting my ass kicked by that game. Great arrange soundtrack by DM Ashura! Definitely triumphs well over the original soundtrack.
---

Stage 1 - Lunatic Party
Rough beginnings. While the first stage is traditionally slow and easy in a STG, GundeadliGne still houses a bit of a challenge even when starting off since you can easily raise the rank a few levels higher in an instant. I find the pace of the track fitting the difficulty, no matter the rank. It's also pretty neat when Eryth flies upside down and you're firing your revolvers away at enemies with the shells dropping above you instead of below.

Stage 2 - Blazing Hellionz
Things start to heat up immensely as you fly off into the fields at high speeds, taking on the demonic army head-on. At first the track feels a bit threatening but as it plays out it almost incites a certain form of badassery. Watch out for that fire cannon on Area 2B!

Stage 4 - Alternated Destiny
Time for a boss-rush against demon guardians as you descend towards the Spring of Yord!

---

After having played the game through and through with the arranged soundtrack and a couple of times with the original, I can safely say that it almost feels like you're playing a different game entirely since both soundtracks differ greatly.

For those who are interested, you can listen to the full arranged soundtrack of GundeadliGne by DM Ashura here.

Is it just me, or does the ending music from Raiden Fighters Jet oddly resemble Crystal Egg Zone from Sonic The Hedgehog 2 on Game Gear?

Growing up in the 80's I just couldn't believe how good chip music got until I listened to Dragon Spirit's OST as a whole. I believe you had to input a code to get to the soundtrack menu on the TG16 version but it was very much worth it.

What else cant be said already about the Thunderforce series of music. Thunderforce III stage 4 is probably my favorite of the whole game if I had to pick one.

R-Type Delta just baffles me how the music just seems to evolve as you play farther into the game. The last minute of the first stage is some of the most memorable catchy music I have every heard. Just love how when you submerge the ship into the water on stage 2 that the music gets even more "underwatery". Trully amazing OST.

Mine's mostly Zuntata, Manabu Namiki, and Hitoshi Sakimoto stuff. Also, some tracks from the Raiden Fighters series. And Ikaruga too, I guess.

Besides the soundtrack being first-rate in its own right, I've always been impressed by Shinji Hosoe's dedication in updating the entire Dragon Spirit OST and including it in Dragon Saber as a hidden soundtrack... while also producing an entirely new soundtrack of the same standard for Saber. Powerhouse performance.

It's very hard for me to pick which is the better arrangement of Spirit's OST, they're both spectacular. Here's "Volcano" from the Saber version. That soaring, diving chiptune solo is ridiculous.

"Instant Replicant" was a huge motivator for me to pick up import shooters and import gaming in general. I'd thought that sound died with 16-bit, to hear it from a 2001 release blew my mind. It's genuinely a great song too - lovely transition from melancholic to elegiac as the bassline soldiers away.

Awesome. It's not so common that gaming music is interesting enough for me to listen outside of playing the game. This OST has some moments that really capture my attention.

I can't understand why people think Ikaruga's music is good knowing that Iuchi said the soundtrack was so bad it didn't deserve a CD release.

I'm so addicted to Siter Skain's RefleX soundtrack. I love the melancholy Raiden-ish vibe, especially in "A Fight to Continue Eternally." That one sends chills down my spine from the awesomeness.

View Point for the Neo-Geo (*not* the CD version, mind you) is always the king for me, *especially* in terms of soundtrack. It's the one game soundtrack I never want to be without.
