I feel there is still significant demand so I'm not calling it a day just yet. My plan is now to design a new version which will be more manufacturable. With luck I should have something to show within two months from now. Once that's done, I'll turn my attention to sorting out something to expand on the complete absence of a controller interface.

Thank god for that , as i was gonna buy one too

Sounds great! Sadly, I came late to the party. So, looks like you got one more customer as soon as the next model is ready. :)

Looked totally awesome when I saw it yesterday. Seriously blew my mind that someone could come up with something this good.

I'm pretty sure it would work with everything.

Can someone explain how the proposed control adapter will work?

I want to know how you connect the wiring of the buttons and joystick to whatever device is being made, and if that connects directly to Viletims arcade monitor adapter.

yes, looks awesome. I think anything with standard SCART/RGB will work.

the only question left is whether unamplified RGB like a hacked Turbografx or N64 will work.

also, my extron converters look great.

Could always install one internally. :)

when feeding the adapter c-sync instead of c-vid it worked with the jumper either way, but I use it correctly in case it causes damage.

Same as PS2 ones.

You can get them from HK for like £3.

Just got it hooked up finally (waited forever for my cable) - looks great!

Only problem is it brought to my attention that 15Hz has geometry issues on the right side of the screen. Just enough to piss me off, so I guess I'm not done tweaking this monitor after all. Now I just need to figure out how to adjust that...

Depends on your monitor / TV.

Monitors have a pin cushion facility which can help. If its a margin issue, I just stretch the screen.

The problem is it's the right 25% of the screen or so, it's squished horizontally by about 40%. So circles on the right side become ovals. I thought perhaps it was the adapter, but then it does the same with a test pattern from the PC. Pincushion didn't get me anywhere.

Hi,

Just got one of those scart>jamma adapters (bought one from Ckong over here).
Excellent piece of equipement Viletim! :)

Only one problem, maybe you can help me.
- When i connect my PS2, pixel perfect image, great colours. Perfect.
- But when i connect my NTSC/J Xbox 360 i get a "purple-ish" image. No distortion whatsoever. But colour is way off.

The same Xbox 360 connected with that same scart on my HDTV gives perfect colours. So the problem couldn't be the scart cable i think.
By the way, i plug the scart in de EURO socket of the adapter. The JP socket gives no image at all (Seems obvious with an Euro scart cable i guess).

Hope someone can help, other than this, the adapter seems awesome.

Thanks!

*** Note, those Xbox 360 screens have to look greenish, not purple! :)

Hi joeks,

I connected my J360 with this very adapter to my NAC and I had a good picture, no purple whatsoever. Did you try to adjust the contrast and/or brightness?

The purple to me says that only the red and blue part of RGB are being transferred..

Hmm..

Also I want the crap out of one of these now.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I already tried to adjust the contrast but that's not it.

It looks like a faulty rgb transfer indeed.
Weird, because the Xbox 360 scart cable does work properly on a TV,
and the scart>jamma adapter scart socket works properly with PS2 scart lead. Hmm.

Pins look alright. Thanks for the suggestion though, you never know.
New official scart cable on the way, hope that one works better (have a third party cable now).

Problem solved! Works perfectly fine with an official scart cable. Now quickly finish the pad-hack :)

Nothing to do about the little flickering image i guess? Since Xbox 360 outputs 480i.. Not perfect 240p like PS2 for instance.
