like i said, if you want arcade perfect, get the arcade game. if you can only afford the console version, then you don't really have much choice

i don't think cash-strapped gamers are in any position to demand anything

sub-standard or flawed home conversions have always, and will always, be part and parcel of home gaming. and that will never change. because people will still buy them, even the ones "demanding". hd remix, great example.. if people would seriously cut their nose off to spite their face, and not buy ports unless they are arcade perfect, sub-standard ports wouldn't get made. but beggars can't be choosers

deep down, they should just be grateful any games are made at all to brighten up their dreary lives

if it's just that you're missing 48 pixels on the vertical axis, i wouldn't even know what to say..

That's what's so stupid. Yeah, it's technically not arcade perfect since the arcade is 768 and the port will be 720... but fucking seriously, dude... talk about nitpicky nonsense. The game could have the same visual quality, all the frames of animation and be exactly the same gameplay wise and some douche would still be standing in the corner screaming about that small change.
