I am moving to a new house so the cabs are stored but here you have some pictures:

It is very hard to wait for seeing these cabs in the new gameroom.

Yeah, I have buttons for "C" but don't use autofire on Donpachi.....

All stashed in the CP....

If I can ever hunt down an Espgaluda PCB for cheap, I'll break out buttons number 3 :p

This is my Korean candy cab. It's wired up for JAMMA and XBOX 360 with a switch box for going between controls.

Thanks. I really like it too. It came out as good, if not better than I had imagined. I forgot to mention that the artwork
was put together by emphatic. He have me a lot of good feedback as I was making the panel, and it definitely helped.

TastySoil wrote:Just posted this over at the NG board, but I thought i'd share photos of my game room with you guys too :D I have three cabinets now. The first one is a Sega NEW ASTRO CITY, the next is a NEO GEO wood cabinet (It looks like a conversion, and sadly it's not in the best condition..) and last but not least is a Sega AERO CITY (acquired from my good buddy dubdubdub!). Check the photos below! 8)

Now I just need a couple Japanese "game center" stools for the candy cabinets (*hint*hint*) :p
This essentially is gonna be my set up here pretty soon minus the Aero. I currently only have a 1 slot converted Neo that needs some TLC and repair. Hopefully I'll be getting the Astro City cab from my job this weekend (it's my boss's. Good luck to me ^_^). If I snag it, I'll probably snag Donpachi as well.

That looks sweet! The white plexi really looks so much better around the panel! 8)

It looks very nice. My cab is pretty discolored. I want to repaint it too. How did you go about repainting yours?

Thanks, I agree that plexi over artwork is the way to go. It makes it look so shiny!

Yes sir. There is no comparison between the white and the way it was before. I'm glad I wasn't lazy and decided to respray it.

Thanks.

I did mine with regular spray-can. If you know the trick it is no problem to get a nice surface.
The problem I had was that it was a little too cold when I painted.
...so I got some places where the paint started to run.

Luckily most of those places I was able to polish off afterwards.
Half the job for getting a good surface is the polish work afterwards.

My "new" Aero City, bought from forum member Joe T.
This is my second Aero, once I'm done cleaning it up it'll sit right next to my first one (posted a few pages back)...

I just love the design of the Aero, the small footprint is nice...too bad it's difficult to find one in *great* shape, oh well.

Sorry for the shit pictures, the flash on my phone has stopped working suddenly:

Now...anybody know where to locate a replacement bezel for the display? This one is pretty cracked - it's TAPED to the inside of the display door :)

But whoa, that was fast! There it is, the king of my collection, my sweet Blast City, ruler of my arcade dreams...:

Isn't it a beauty? :awe: Looking forward to cleaning it and getting it up and running:

Congratulations on the new baby!

May I suggest some bleach water and some #0000 steel wool?

Spray down the cabinet with like, a 10% bleach water mixture and get to scrubbing. Circular motions will get all that yellowness off of there.

Again, congrats!

Is the side art a decal\sticker? or is it printed directly on the fiberglass or plastic or whatever?

If it's printed, maybe not a good idea, but if those are decals go for it.

Both of my Aero City cabinets were nasty stained with 20 years of Japanese cigarette smoke and they cleaned up really nicely.

Good luck!

and again, congrats! Got any PCB's yet? Or is this cabinet in addition to others?

Mr. Clean Magic Erasers, a mild citrus degreaser and a bit of water is all you need to clean a cab. Takes off paint scuffs, dirt, nicotine stains, you name it.

I totally didn't even THINK of Magic Erasers...

@matskat:
The side-artworks are stickers, very good quality, so you think I'm save washing the cab down?

@johnny5:
"magic erasers" aren't really a term for me, here in switzerland. Good you link me to the product somehow? But in general, your advice sounds good.

@chempop:
Yup, the screen is tateable, and will be tated, as soon as I can persuade one of my friends to help me with this monstrosity of a crt.... :-D

Btw, I decided to dissassemble the cab in large parts. Because, it stinks of old old ooooold cigarette smoke, it's infesting the intestines of my Cab, all in its dusty innards. And I can't have that. :-) Seriously... The room in the dojo where I put it started to smell like an old smokers lounge... :shock:

I need to dissassemble it, because really, all those little places and crevices inside the cab are such a bitch to clean without a vacuum cleaner. And as I don't want to hurt the electronics inside... I'll have to go the long and hard way... :mrgreen: Actually, kinda looking forward to this kind of work.
