Raising US difficulty to 4 does not make it equal with the JPN version. The entire game was dumbed down for Western audiences. (As well as the voices being removed). I'll have a proper look into it later but I didn't notice any significant difference to my MAME version when playing it at Casino.

Even on US default, Progear is a tough nut to crack!
So at Casino, the US board is on 2?
Just checked this on MAME. Yep US default is 2, JPN default is 4.

Providing no ones tinkered with the dips at Casino, the board should be on 2 so therefore eligible for hi-score play. ;)

Just bought my coach tickets for the london meet, I'm travelling from Bournemouth arriving in london for 10:20, so I should be in Casino before mid day for certain.
My return coach is at 23:30 so I'll have plenty of hours for watching, talking and playing 3rd strike.

Been trocadero many times before but never Casino, I'm pretty psyched up for it, I'm probably going to wear something quite recognisable in the t-shirt department so I'll keep you posted.
I'm excited like a kid in a mall sized toy shop or about to watch a film your parents don't want you to see (Predator).

I do enjoy shmups but only skilled in mars matrix and layer section BUT I'm happy to learn something new.

I'm probably going to sleep rough after my return journey as it arrives past 2am (no trains or buses) the catch the early train home. I chose late return cos I want to be around for a good gaming time, meet cool ppl.
Hardcore gaming or what, hahaha.

Jeez, all these people! Casino's never going to have been so packed :D
Simeon has done 'an Icarus' and announced a shock-horror departure from the scene.

Whhaaat?

When did that happen - any idea of the reason?

Skykid - This is a bit off topic, but here's your answer:-

I agree. For me its justa simple case of discipline. Games are almost like second nature to most of us that have been around for ever (LOL). I just dont want the distraction. But I have told mans that I will pass through from time to time.

Once (IF) I get to where I want to be, then peeps will see alot more of me.
But in the mean time, i will still be around for a few months.

Back to On Topic:- To all Attendees -On Saturday the arcade opens around 10am, so I figure 11am - Midday start.
Pass by on friday evening if you're already in town.
I'll repeat the location for filthy first timers -> Casino Arcade next door to Goodge Street tube station (downstairs). Its on Tottenham Court Road and the three other nearby stations are Tottenham Court Road, Warren Street and Euston Square.

skykid, you're skyrocketting with such insane ideas :D ...talking batteries, i forgot you could steal some power voltage in the arcade, this event can be a real mac gyver homeless arcade addicts show ^^

yes a dlp 3lcd little projector would be such awesome  (just imagine buying ddp fukkatsu in japan and playing right away in near park or street building at night 8)

2 other correct ideas : small 14" tft tv with rgbscart input (despite lag),

or some "old" tft pc monitor with xrgb2+ interface... these two could easily enter in a suitcase...

If anybody has a car we could get my old back-projection TV. It' RGBscart, a UK telly but with 60Hz, 20-something inches. 26 maybe.

I'm over on the other Side of Bethnal Green, so not too far from Casino....

Actually. I could see if a mate of mine has a car, but I can't think of any in London with wheels...

EDIT - it Tates lovely too...

Sorry mate, I'm not your guy for help with the TV sets, one because I'm shit with tech stuff and two because I live in Brighton, which means I'm not in a great position to be dragging CRT sets down with me. Believe me, if I had any great ideas on this, I would've contributed them already.

I grew up near Brighton! Well, nearer Eastbourne, but nobody admits to that!

An Casino has the US Progear on 2, so get your score up!

Hey Spadgy - yeah, I should've photo'd that last score when I was there - but there was a bunch of people on Capcom vs SNK 2 (why?!) right next to me and I thought I'd look like a plum, so I just left it. Next time I'll be bolder.

Literally turn right out of Goodge Street station and it's two doors down, maybe three. Neon 'Casino' sign outside. Arcade in the basement...

Before I put this on the Trading Station, I just thought I could offer it to the attendees first:-
Image
I have a SEALED Blade Runner Ultimate USA all the way Boxset for sale for £30. 5 Discs and a bewildering amount of extras :o .
I got caught with a £14.00 UK Customs Duty on it and I have two, so this one's for sale.
I can bring it down to the arcade if anyone wants it...

Definitely. I'll also bring a few blank dvdrs so hopefully we can do Mills a copy of that DVD and then he'll have no excuses for not setting a new WR :)

Thanks for the £25 offer Skykid, but this ntsc sucka cost me $65.00 plus $10.00 carriage plus $28.00 Customs Charge. Its sealed and limited edition with code No. 022642/103000.
Grab it for £30, there's no way you can bring one of these in the country for near £30. The damn thing weighs near 5kgs

Yeah i saw the 2.19million spitfire first loop replay via video.google.com link to some japanese youtube site. but the download was so slow and the replay kept stopping throughout the clip. anyway i can bring my 10in portable dvd player down. wont be able to stay after 6pm on saturday because ive gotta head to work by but sunday ill be free from work. cant chase the score at troc because the difficulty setting is on easy.
