Yeah I think I mentioned this on IRC. Those customs are often bashed down a bit, I don't know how this happens since they're pretty strong so people are really dropping things on them. The legs should be bent but you can see where one side has been squashed. This breaks them sometimes and causes the colour ram fault. Get yourself a meter and work out which pins are broken using a continuity test (or just eyes) and then fix them using a pointed tip soldering iron. It's often a really easy one to fix. Don't try to level the chip back out, you'll just break loads more legs.

Thx :D Espgaluda 2 was actually the first Cave title I ever owned. Though it'll have to wait. I'm currently trying to get through Espgaluda which is taking far longer than planned (but not expected  ).

Is the black bit with Konami on it the customs you mention? Sorry, I'm really noobish on PCB components. Are these the parts that can die on Konami boards and make it such a difficult task to revive, or am I thinking of something different?

It's a colour custom, common source of problems on the few games that use them - but not usually due to actual failure just abuse. Not the same as the black custom modules they used for sound on a whole family of boards, which are guaranteed to leak acid and ruin everything.

Just received this one today.
Nothing special, but his game was in my "tobuy" list for some time because one of my sons like to play it in Mame:

Masked Riders Club - Battle Race

Would like to find the flyer now :)

Boy, it's been a while since I've posted anything in this thread :D

Over the last 6 months, I've re-purchased many CPS2 titles I'd sold over the years and have been working on a complete CPS2 collection. Here's a board I picked up for a song earlier this year, unlabeled and untested. I finally cracked it open a few days ago:

PWG = Powered Gear. Needed decrypted program EPROMS, but works fine now.

Good read. Must feel great discovering the "proper" arcade version of a favourite ported title.

That horrific final boss form at the end! I got to making it to the final boss in a credit without too much fuss... But it was weeks more before I got the 1CC. Good luck!

Anyway... I'd got out of the habit of using this thread, but now I'm here... I just recently got myself In The Hunt. Such a pretty game!

Oh... Don't think I posted this here; a while back I completed my Espgaluda kit. Got the flyers first - years ago - and the PCB last.

Is there a super play of this game available? I put in quite a few credits on it but never seemed to get anywhere. Indeed, it's great.
