Well, it was fun, but I sucked. To think that I'm not even halfway though the game...

I see that Touhou is Harder is being lame and not showing almost any of their scores until the very end. Nice job guys. We can do that too I guess.

It's a tournament. I can say what I want. :) Is there a problem with doing it this way?Sapz wrote:Chill out, man. :) If you must know, I'm still trying to improve my score, though I doubt I'll make any more progress past the 9m I have now. Each one of us is free to do what they want with their scores, it just happened to turn out this way for the most part. Re: STGT'11 Week 2: Daioh
I actually really appreciate Sik posting a SICK (pun intended) score that seemed so out of reach. Now look: so many people are actually coming close. I think posting progress encourages great competition. Waiting until the last minute to post scores so nobody can set a target is pretty cowardly. Nothing wrong with being a coward, though.Sapz wrote:Chill out, man.sikraiken wrote:I see that Touhou is Harder is being lame and not showing almost any of their scores until the very end. By all means, feel free. I'm not looking for any drama here.sikraiken wrote:It's a tournament. I can say what I want.Is there a problem with doing it this way?
Encouraging competition is a good point, but there are still a lot of people who don't like submitting a score until they're certain they can't improve it further. Personally, I think one of the most exciting and fun aspects of STGT is watching the thread during the last few hours for a bunch of last-minute scores to be posted, wondering how you'll place.DK64_MASTER wrote:I actually really appreciate Sik posting a SICK (pun intended) score that seemed so out of reach. Re: STGT'11 Week 2: Daioh
If you are not certain you can improve it, that's fine. But I'm sure some people are just sitting on a score, not touching it until they see themselves drop a place. It's like a chicken and the egg, if nobody posts a score since they are all waiting to see what they need to beat, then it could be quite boring until the last minute. It also renders the dynamic scoreboard largely useless since it is widely inaccurate until the last few hours.Sapz wrote:Encouraging competition is a good point, but there are still a lot of people who don't like submitting a score until they're certain they can't improve it further. Like I said, nothing wrong with waiting if you want to play it that way, but I think there are infinitely more advantages to exposing your score earlier. After all, we play for glory, right?

Re: STGT'11 Week 2: Daioh
I typically only played games on the last day or two the past couple years. I did it a couple times maybe, though (Battle Garegga comes to mind).ShadowWraith wrote:I seem to remember you doing this a lot in past STGTs... :Dsikraiken wrote:I see that Touhou is Harder is being lame and not showing almost any of their scores until the very end. I didn't have very much time to play at all. I'm gonna blame it on the SDA marathon.
