Very nice piano rendition of the wonderfully malevolent/elegant "Chandeliers" from Castlevania IV. Besides nailing the tone of the OSV version, I love how he translated the string elements of the song over to keys.

I'm in love with Siter Skain's RefleX soundtrack. I love the melancholy Raiden-ish vibe, especially in "A Fight to Continue Eternally." That one sends chills down my spine from the awesomeness. I think I might have found my second favorite shmup music next to Raiden.

Spirit of Stone feat. Hyakutaro Tsukumo, Toshiharu Yamanishi and Tomomi Otani. Frequently the best Tecno Soft soundtrack never made. Lots of fiery rock and metal straight out of Thunder Force II-V, and some of the synths are just heavenly. Has some surprisingly funky trips into left field, too.

Tenchu's hidden music, "Tenchu suite"
The stage clear music is in the playlist as well (if BIL is looking for a source for that).

Quite an amazing find for me, since the soundtrack is pretty much universally acclaimed, yet this track is virtually unknown being released only in debug mode and a soundtrack disc release.

Metal Black's Stage 1 music is just haunting, it sends chills down my spine seeing the desolate wasteland of Earth, the dried up ocean beds, the ruins of the city, the remains of the human forces' fighter jets being used against you, and the huge alien crab carrying the aircraft carrier.

Such a great game and a fantastic soundtrack. Been too long since I've played this one; I think I'll put it on tonight. :)

I've never really noticed before, but Gun Frontier has one of the most amazing melancholy soundtracks I've ever heard in my life. It's such an overlooked, underrated gem.

Stage 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPf6BuYvlKo
Stage 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WFkfjng42E
Stage 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8GLGS6DO_k
Stage 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ru37CzDAgtE
Stage 5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbkfOolpyjA
Stage 6: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldP_-aM1mEE

Stage 1 has a great opening song, Stage 2 has one of the best songs I've ever heard in a shmup, Stage 4's song is really melancholy, it really brings out that desolate feeling when you're flying over the empty fields, and you hear the wind whistling as it passes through the crops below. Stage 5 for some reason reminds me of a song from Raiden, I just don't recall which one at the moment.

Gun Frontier for the Saturn makes perfect sense listened to as audio CD. It's practically an album.

Beat Fatman on Hard in MGS2. Ought to be my favourite bossfight preceding Rays.
