Iirc Randorama has stated himself that he rounded down the score, so, yes, an approximation. I don't remember the underlying reason.
Less important now though, since it is no longer #1.

Herrejävlarns!!! Du tog det!!! :D Fy fan va awezum!!! Enormt stort grattis man!!! Du har sannerligen nått omänskliga höjder!!! Ta och fira det här med en tunna öl och lite skön svensk fusion 8)

Sorry but I had to type it in Swedish considering the magnitude of the feat. Here's the English translation:

Holy f**king shit!!! You took it!!! :D That's f**king awezum!!! Enormously big congrats man!!! You have truly attained inhuman heights!!! Celebrate this with a barrel of beer and some nice Swedish fusion 8)

Tack som fan, Per! :D
En tunna öl och fusion hade varit nice, men det ser ut att bli en helkväll med damen och... Gangsta?
Måste passa på att smida medan järnet är hett dock! Ett E är nära, F är definitivt inte omöjligt. :)

Following your example and posting an English translation as well:
Spoiler
Thank you very fucking much, Per! :D
A keg of beer and fusion would've been nice, but this is looking like it's gonna be an evening spent with the lady and... Gangsta?*
Gotta strike while the iron's hot though! An E is close, F definitely not impossible. :)

Finally got the clear (and on the board!) with noticeably good rank management and scoring to keep the suicides flowing. Was kind of a tense ending but I squeezed by. Dropped medals at Base's first wall, and I only had one full bomb to milk BH2's mines but most everything else was fairly solid.

7,313,800 - x91 - Stage 5 - Shatter Star

Played this in our shmups contest in June, it's a really awesome game, its style is so unique that provides much fun not like any Cave or Psikyo games can offer. I'm sure I'll find some time to complete it.

Credits to KET, I learned a lot from his video. And Icarus' guide too.

New PB done while at Hey Akihabara on Tuesday night, after travelling back from Kyoto on the Shinkansen.

Image

Not worth updating with. Two medal drops, one inexplicably during the stage5 platforms doing dumb shit, run saved only by a quick medal rebuild and a decent MB2.
Kind of remarkable I got this at all considering I haven't played much of anything for months.

So I started playing again on-off the past month as I was preparing to visit Tokyo and catch up with Kamui, Erhune, adversity1 and everyone else there. The post above was on my second-to-last day there, but I didn't want it added as I wanted to record something.

Since I got back, I've been playing it here and there, and have something worthwhile to post now.

D,154,630 - Icarus - Stage 7 - Bornnam (ABC) [GareggaMAME 0.90.03]

Image

Black Heart2 is still a huge nuisance, but the past few days I've been consistently getting up to mid-C scores, so I just need a little push. Also in this session Kamui popped in and chatted with everyone, and gave me some nice tips. :>
My potential still sits at around F.32 but for that I need an absolutely perfect run with no execution mistakes, which probably won't ever happen as I have no execution at the moment.

Been savestate practicing offline for a few days to sharpen up some sections as my internet has been intermittent and thus was unable to stream.
Made some improvements to key scoring areas, and am now somewhat comfortable enough to attempt runs again.

D,754,350 - Icarus - Stage 7 - Bornnam (ABC) [GareggaMAME 0.90.03]

Image

A.64 starting stage6. Horrible medalling from stage6 onwards. :/
Interestingly, BH2 was a 1-miss kill (suicided on purpose for Weapon fragments), so I'm improving against it at least. Need some focused practice on Glow Squid to get some comfort with it, as it's wholly random at the moment.
My maximum potential is now estimated at around F.8 but that requires a perfect run. Comparing my practices to the highest known Bornnam replay, there's approx. 1mil in points unaccounted for between the start of the game and stage6 start that I want to figure out, too, as the extra points will help a lot.

Replay: http://www.twitch.tv/icarusfw/c/5670821 (partially muted because Twitch.)

EDIT: Also, the Top Ten hasn't been updated for a while, lol.

I actually had a D.89 a few days ago before this score, lol.

E,183,240 - Icarus - Stage 7 - Bornnam (ABC) [GareggaMAME 0.90.03]

Image

A run where everything kind of came together, barring a stupid death on BH1, where I decided not to blimp suicide to retain stock, and a slightly messy Junkey Monkey, destroying the arms too slowly, and killing it too early. As usual, run ended by Glow Squid, but getting much closer to my target of F+.

Awesome, man!
Now you've made me hyped to get my ass together during winter break and raise this GB score.
My strategies have about the same potential as you but they're definitely improvable.

Go for it!
My maximum potential from reworking my save states is now around F.8 but for that I need a perfect run. A typical run's scoring potential is closer to F.4.
The last thing I need to work on is Glow Squid, as I'm nervous as all hell getting there and it rekts me. :_:
I don't intend to stop until I get to my goal, now I have plenty of free time in the evenings to practice. :3

Tried my hand on some Miyamoto and lolwut. Top 3.
Didn't manage to pull off any fancy scoring at all. Both Mad Balls gave shit.
Mysteriously lost the medals right before BH2, must have dropped off screen...

Took a break from studying and played some more Miyamoto because, well, sexy.
Lost the medals at the end of stage 6 and fucked up both Mad Balls yet again. Also got terrible RNG at BH2 where he just shot out drones the entire first form. No grenades at all.
Last form was filled with buggery such as; no grenades, diving down to the bottom of the screen and staying there.
With better tactics, better RNG and a clear i see how an E could be pretty easily obtainable.

ALL!

E,449,340 - Icarus - ALL - Bornnam (ABC) [GareggaMAME 0.90.03]

Image

After yesterday's session where I scored in the region of D.1 to D.7 in six full attempts, I felt that I could make that little extra push. Tonight's session was a little less sharp, with only one other notable score, an E.06 to Stage 7, on the board. Then this one happened, and I really didn't think I'd make it, especially considering that Black Heart 2 was being an ass, and I had to get to the E extend via tick points. I dropped maybe 500k in points from stupid mistakes, especially in st4 where for some reason I've been misjudging the amount of damage I've been doing to it, and have killed it at least two torpedo cycles too early.

Just so happy to have finally got a replay of an ALL for this game done, but I'm not finished yet, as both Plasmo's current score and an F score are in sight. Onward!

(It's even more remarkable that I had been without a way to play the game from Christmas Day as my Mac has been undergoing repairs the past month, until Wednesday's stream when I had the time to play for a bit. Guess it's like riding a bike, you never truly forget.)
