I think it's quite obvious that they are. In case you haven't noticed, two old games were licensed out, and two of their latest 3 have been ported or are being ported. Their latest which I won't call a game, is most likely going to see a port as well. We know what Cave used to be like. We know what all old school companies were like. They all change at some time. Why is this so hard to swallow?

Well, I guess I'm just pretty pissed off by all these changes. For me it's the end of Japanese 2D arcade shmups...whatever it's just how I feel.

I don't think it's so much that it's in 3D as that it's crappy 3D. At least when compared to the quality of their 2D.

Kinda like SF EX compared to any 2D SF title for the most part.

We aren't crying 'cause it's in 3d (as has been pointed out, all of Cave's modern stuff has been pre-rendered 3D for ages). We are crying 'cause it looks like arse.

As someone who has played it several times, I agree with GP (who has also played it) that it's weak.

It looks like shit, isn't especially thrilling to play, has that annoying stage cap until Cave give us some up up down down left right code to see the rest of it, and generally feels like a big step back from the first game and their games in general.

Not what I would call "spicing things up". The fact that it's their first game on this new hardware does not instill much confidence in the future.

Daifukkatsu looks like arse too but people like it because the gameplay is there. Half this thread consists of bitching about the graphics and how it looks, but not how it plays. I remember when people used to actually play games. Do you?

Maybe people should reserve judgment until it's ported?

I have to admit I never played DS2 or ever will. Why should I waste my time and money with a crappy looking game, if I could play in the same time a good looking game which is even actually good.

Are you high? Daifukkatsu looks great. If anything, Daifukkatsu's gameplay is where it lacks. Death Smiles 2 looks and plays poorly, it isn't just the graphics that people are annoyed about.

I have reconfigured my hotkeys. No F5ing here! And for the record, I'm quite fine insulting Cave's "good" games (I believe DFK has issues, but the graphics definitely ain't it). And I play plenty of 3D. I have about half the DC games, and play them.

I'd think that CAVE fanboyism would be continuing to play a "terrible" game just because the CAVE name is stamped on it. These "fanboys" are saying the game is terrible when they usually say that CAVE is almost the only thing going for shmups anymore. You don't think something is wrong here?

Wow, has no one mentioned the unlocking of Casper?

It's a code, when you put in the credit you hold down C and then do a combination using the stick and other buttons. So, everything is in the game already I guess, no network connection needed. I wonder how long it'll take for the rest of the stuff to open up.

Yeah. I played as Casper. I liked the other girl better. The older one that isn't Casper. Casper's A+B special attack has a difficult range to attract bullets. Still waiting for new levels. *sigh* slight optimism that this game will improve with unlockables can only hold out so long.
