The Hori stick for the 360 is nice; the standard controller's dpad is worthless.neorichieb1971 wrote:I'm not a 360 owner. What are the controller options for this console that are ideal for this game?
Thanks, EOJ, for the clarification. I'm going to hold off on buying an import 360 at least until Ketsui preorders are available.

Go play your PS3 and be happy..... the rest of us with both or just a 360 will watch out for more shooters on the 360.
Uhhh . . . reading comprehension much? I already OWN a 360, which is why I'm not interested in buying another one, especially when there's effectively no warranty service.
As for sony fucking me, I own 3 sony consoles, all of which work flawlessly. If i want to play a JP ps3 game on my US PS3, it's as difficult as sticking the game in the drive.
This is whats involved to _change_ the region on a 360 (unless things have changed in the 360 scene recently, there is no way to make a 360 region free via a modchip):
1.Spend 50+ euro on an infectus
2. install the damn thing

(notice the .08mm wire)
3. downgrade the kernel to an exploitable version
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpPoiI9MpWg
4. Jump through another ton of hoops every time you feel like playing a JP game instead of a US one:
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php? ... 13201&st=0
5. Dont dare play on XBL
6. Start over at step 1 when the damn thing RROD's
Now which company is fucking over consumers? Thought so . . .
The Hori stick for the 360 is better than nothing, but its honestly kind of crap compared to a virtua stick high grade or real arcade pro 3The Hori stick for the 360 is nice; the standard controller's dpad is worthless.
There's fairly explicit instructions on how to mod a VSHG

Same idea applies to HRAP3
Let's make our system region free but sue anyone who tries to sell import games out of business
That is Galactic Dancing
I don't see how Microsoft is the one fucking anybody over, when in the end, it's up to the publisher if they want to region lock the disc?cody wrote:Strider77 wrote:sony fanboys are the worst kind. they get fucked in the ass with no lube and still want another round.

Considering they corrected the issue, I don't see what your point is?Ceph wrote:Isn't Microsoft responsible for building those shoddy consoles? Or is that left to the publishers as well?
Or do you even know anymore? First you attack them because they "fucked the consumer" by region locking games (which they don't). Now because you can't dig on them for that, you attack them for having reliability issues?
If the publisher doesn't region lock the game, you'll have no reason to import a JP 360, thus, no warranty concerns.
What are you going to next, rail on against Capcom for designing hardware that grenades on purpose?

Unfortunately, it's par for the course round here right now.doctorx0079 wrote:This topic started out with interesting news, but since there is no more news yet, it has turned into arbitrary speculation, off-topic BS and personal attacks.
EOJ's cave-stg site is far easier to browse through for actual news on stuff like this.

I wouldn't feel so bad about buying an XBox 360, as I know Microsoft lose money on the purchase (razor blade business model, and all that).kengou wrote:This post is brought to you from a Fedora-driven laptop (I do love ubuntu, just giving Fedora a try) and a fellow microsoft-hater. And I *will not* buy a 360 even though Ketsui is being released on it. It pisses me off to no end that it's coming to the 360 because I refuse to buy one, but even though it's Ketsui I hate Microsoft too much to give in and pay them money.
I still don't get why they're releasing on the 360. To make a few broad generalizations, American gamers don't want hardcore shmups like Ketsui or DOJ, and Japanese gamers don't own 360s.
But again, I will only buy this if it comes out either region-free, or PAL regioned. I'm not going to go to the effort of buying an import 360 just to play the games. I'd rather just by the arcade PCBs.
[edit] And the PCBs will probably last longer than a 360 will, by the looks of things.

I own a launch ps2 baught new by me, I've had to replace the lazer in it 3 times. I just got a modded US PS2 3 weeks ago. I got it and tested it with dvds and cds.... the first blue disc "contra SS" wouldn't boot. I fixed it in under an hour but still.Uhhh . . . reading comprehension much? I already OWN a 360, which is why I'm not interested in buying another one, especially when there's effectively no warranty service.

For the warrenty on imports systems, just so folks know who are thinking about it....
I have a friend who bought a import 360 like me, It gave her the red ring, she called MS in the US and they took the serial number and repaired it for free. She told the operator to add a note in the report that it was a NTSC J console. She got in return a japan console, it was a different serial number so it was replaced with a different japan console.
This made me feel alot better.... it under warrenty for 3 years if the manufacture date is early. And the replacement was renewed at 3 years again.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?
i guess all this 360 hate is pointless.
Everybody have 250 bucks to get one and play the damn ketsui when its done.
Who gives a fuck about MS consoles having issues? You get it repaired if it happens.
Whats the fucking problem i mean. Its only a box with chips inside and it cOULD happen it breaks down, like a car, a microwave, a ps2 why not.
Like everything.
so now stop this..
