London Meet 4!! (Feb 23rd to 25th + extra days)
Glad I managed to catch some of you yesterday, albeit v briefly! I was the big fella with the long hair who showed up later on at Casino to marvel at DEL's Ketsui skills - went to grab some food before meeting up with folks again at the Troc, but I was either too early or too late as I couldn't find anyone by that point. Back at work again today, but hope you're all having fun!
!
Good to meet you fuse. Its sightseeing today for the AEX Team and Team Cowboy, then perhaps some final credits at Casino in the evening.
Great to meet everyone yesterday, I couldn't believe how many people turned up this time!
Very glad I managed to see BR1's 2-6 DDP run, after missing Mills' Strikers demo the night before. Glad I managed to catch some Mushi Ultra play from LUN too.
Cheers to all those involved in organising meet #4

"I LIKE SHOTS BULLITS AT BAD MAN"
Just got back home from this. It was amazing how many people we managed to get together from this meet and it was great to finally get to put a face to the names I know - DEL, LUN, Icarus, fontaz Krgfn and others.
Many thanks to DEL (and your friend, not sure what his nick is) for the lovely (cheap!) Chinese meal Saturday evening.
Unfortunately I didnt get many pics myself but I am happy to help out putting names to faces where I can

There are no games I'm really good at at this meet, but I'm pitting my wits against Ketsui. Currently at stage4 boss with about 65mil, not bad for someone who has no prior experience of this game. ^_-the allett wrote:Is anyone gonna put up some scores from the meet
My photos coming soon. Good to finally meet rjpageuk and the ikaruga.co.uk guys; our resident namakoteamers elbarto, Smraedis and mulletgeezer; KrgFn, Herr Schatten and some of the other guys. Currently hanging out at Casino with Plasmo, MovingTarget, Masamune and Dr.Ian. DEL and the Italian visitors are sightseeing and should be arriving later today.

Icarus 65 mill and you ain't played it before?? thats very good mate! But i have seen some of your replays and scores before at other games so that isn't much of a suprise to be honest
Ketsui defo my fav cave shooter, shame i don't have much spare time to play these days. Would have been cool to have seen some of the skills going on this weekend, maybe next time.

It wasn't about scores, it was a social thing. We all know what we are capable of.
Sure, there were tremendous performances by BR1, LUN, Mills, Plasmo....
But it wasn't a competition, just a large social event.
Many more photos to follow. And YES - even some scores

Yeah. Thanks, DEL, for another great London meet. It was good to see you, Mills, elbarto and Masamune again and finally meet Icarus, Plasmo, LUN and the others.
I had loads of fun at the meet, although my legs are still hurting from walking all around London for the past days. I'm back at my workplace now.
So I should be able to get some rest.
See you next time.

Very Glad you could make it again Herr Schatten! A Pleasure as always!!
Here's a couple of shots:

Another good one of you.
Note: Masamune on left was at the 36hrs awake point during that meal.

Looks like a very cool meet, it's a shame I couldn't join this time. Nice to see an international shmup meet in Europe, hopefully there will be #5 next year. Where I will probably join you guys as well.
More pics, please.
BTW: Who is who on those photos?
That one guy is Herr Schatten, I remember him from that show yourself photo thread. But I don't know who the others are.
EDIT:
Last pic, the one in red is Plasmo, right?

I remember at the last meet (the one I missed by going home a few minutes before it started) Elbarto was hanging around for ages while I was there but I didn't realise until I saw him in a photo after the meet, so I spoke to him at this meet as I recognised him. Herr Schatten was sitting near me while I was playing Progear on Saturday but I didn't realise who he was until I saw these new photos. It was quite tricky to pick out the shmuppers in the Casino, especially as a lot of those attending didn't seem to be playing anything. We should wear ID badges or something next time.

^The characters in the Trocadero shot are (from left): Plasmo, Mills, Moving Target, perhaps Neverland?, Masamune, LUNardei.
Ok here's some more:

NAMAKOTEAM - Mulletgeezer, Smraedis, (Moving Target), Icarus

AEX Team - BR1, Katie-sama, LUN, NEV

Kid Icarus/Kaede going for another Progear 1CC

Did you guys eat at Wong Kei?

!
One Team Mills shot approaching fast...
-----------------------------------------------------
In the meantime, its Fontaz and Team Cowboy

and let's face it, you can NEVER get enough of Herr Schatten!

Winner!
Edit: Wong Kei? - Nope, not this time. The London Players normally eat at Wong Kei, but I usually take London Meets to Crispy Duck (also owned by Wong Kei) which is better and only slightly more expensive.
We ended up in China China though.

Re: !
We were sessioning Ketsui. Plasmo and I were mainly discussing tactics and he was watching me take on the game for 66mil+ with both Type A and Type B up to stage5 (both times ending just before the Extend carrier). He left for the airport at around 3.30pm, but not before demonstrating his prowess at Mushi Maniac by ALLing the thing for 75mil+. He only came second on the scoretable though, he put up a 77mil+ to stage5 boss and failed to ALL that time.DEL wrote:Plasmo and Icarus are currently sessioning Ketsui. I might be late into Casino as I'm going for dinner with my cousin after she finishes work, but will definitely be there tonight. My arm is killing me from playing Ketsui. >_<

DAY 5 of The Meet
It continued today. Plasmo apparently kept going on Ketsui and Mush this afternoon with Icarus, but had to leave for his plane.
Tonight: Icarus, myself, ARC, Masamune and Craig continued 'til late:
