Catheter - Preamble to Oblivion - hardcore grind crust doom sludge fucking awesomness right here. Doomed out passages, sludgy grooves and blast beats. Can't beat it.

it's awesome.
I love "pushed back" <33333
Do you know Nasum / Regurgitate / Genocide Superstars? If not, i urge you to check them all out.
It doesn't get any hotter than this shit, its a fucking nuclear blast into your face.
...without the metal poser shit

Especially Nasum will melt your face off, they're the kings of changing pace, switching between blast beats and groovy parts.

I grew up a short distance from that prison. Much of my family lives right off Folsom Blvd.

Chieko Mori - Jumping Rabbit

This is some of the most relaxing music ever, written by a koto virtuoso off of John Zorn's Tzadik Records. "Midnight Forest" is a favorite track of mine.

I also just listened to the Tokyo Jihen "Sports" album. Didn't enjoy it too much. That band to me has always felt like they were pop stars trying to hard too rock and this album was no exception at all. It just has this overproduced sound that I don't like.

Yeah I dig Nasum and Regurgitate is cool. Never really got in to Genocide SS though, the tracks I heard of theirs were a bit too d-beat for me. I'll have to give them more of a listen sometime.

Can anyone rec a Dead Kennedys album? I used to listen to a lot of early NOFX and that kind of stuff as a kid and they seem to have been influenced by them, and I've found myself singing Holiday In Cambodia after some Rock Band Unplugged sessions.

Edit: Oh and I like it rough so crappy production isn't a problem, or could be seen as a plus if the energy levels are high.

There's a lot of overlap in their discography, and Jello Biafra's shtick isn't particularly deep. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the only album you really need to own is Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables.

Completists and purists will probably beg to differ.

East Bay Ray is clearly the star of that band. As a teenager I thought Jello was a genius. Now I just think he's annoying. "Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death" is the album I listen too most these days.

I've been listening to lots of 80s rap lately. Special Ed, Too $hort, JVC Force, BDP, NWA, Chubb Rock etc

I would pretty much agree, however I would add that Plastic Surgery Disasters / In God We Trust Inc. is also worth checking out if only for Moon Over Marin and Nazi Punks Fuck Off. The live track "Pull My Strings" off Give Me Convenience... is also great.

edIT - Crying Over Pros For No Reason

Awesome electronic. I don't know if it would fall under dub-step, break-beat or what, but I like it a lot :D

Ok, gave it another listen, nope don't like it. It's got that same trancey vibe of Boerdoms-super ar, obvious connection.. I like the off kilter passive aggresiveness of ooioo's 1st.

Oh shit! I love Super AE so this is a win-win for me. The only two OOIOO albums I've listened to are Taiga and the latest one. Gotta check out all of their earlier stuff. I have a terrible habit of not listening to a band's entire discography a lot of the time and only stick to their latest 3 albums for some reason. Must stop doing that.

On the topic of Boredoms... does anyone have a favorite Super Roots album? I've only listened to #'s 7 - 10.

I really like the heavier tracks on VNV's Future Perfect-fearless, awesome!

Ruins- Symphonica They got a couple of female singers and alot of synth for this on. A great, but quirky, listen. Sounds like game music done by Ruins. Most of the hips road disks are pretty good.

Haven't heard that one.
Might be a bit of a stretch on my part. It's like Ruins mixed with opera and game music. I love it. The girls on it sing in that same nonsence phonetic language.
