I did work it out ages ago, the first digit is probably which factory batch it is - I've seen serials as high as 7xxxx so they did make a lot of this game.

I think they're just random numbers.. lol.. Mine certainly don't make any sense. From the top is Ibara, Ibara Kuro, and SDOJ.

Crazy, I have an old Ibara Kuro PCB that was reprogrammed back to an original Ibara and sold as NOS Kits.

Its IB - 212

So I always assumed there were less than 212 Ibara Kuro pcbs floating around. Guess not, but it begs the question how many did they turn back into original Ibaras? I've only ever seen one (mine).

Not about US AAf Mustang but also about an UPL (NMK ?) board, it seems to me that I saw a Riot legit board from Ebay around 1 month ago... But I didn't know this is one of the rarest board wich has ever released, I read somewhere that there are only 7 legits boards around the world and the worst was if I remember well, it wasn't so expensive and almost sure it was a legit one... :(

After seeing some vidz, it looks to be a very good clone of cabal.

Nice catch anyway ! ;)

There are other boards that can be converted to Riot. I also don't remember where I saw it, but someone mentioned it might have seen a limited release in Europe as well.

Waited forever for one of these, v. Stoked today! :D

Zero Team JPN region pcb, in excellent shape, shipped from next door in Guangzhou. I've now found my Chinese arcade vendor, and he's a really nice chap.

Thanks to system11 for the heads up and the missus for a superb haggle that got the board for a steal (I was prepared to pay much more than £60 shipped for this uber rarity - double, in-fact!)

EDIT: Also, I'm not familiar with the layout and I don't see anything suspicious - but can anyone see a suicide battery on here? If not, it must be the revision (which is even better).

Sheepnova came out good on that - well, for me. For another buyer it might not have been as amicable. They gave me $100 back, nearly all of the purchase price. I repaired the crappy repair and it's fine now. For someone not able to fix boards, they'd have been left slightly out of pocket and with a broken game.

Do you know you might be millionaire ? Look at this dude's sale on the bay, he's quite excited to own and sell his New Zero Team   :

^ Absolutely ridiculous, but worth noting there is a 'Final' ver. of Zero Team beyond the 'new' version. It came out some time after and is kind of an oddity (I'm not even sure anything is altered bar the title screen). Rare definitely, but there's nothing to suggest it's ever been worth any more money. I think the seller is likely to discover that soon enough.

RTC just stores the game settings and income bookkeeping (but not highscore).
You can replace the RTC with an equivalent RTC chip having fresh battery or with a FRAM (does not store bookkeeping),
but it is not really that important if you use factory game settings.

Also, if you are going to use a LCD with it, you should add some resistors to the RGB lines,
the levels are a bit high and you have to bring them down a bit (you can see the white of the vic viper is all washed out)
100-110 ohm resistor will do the trick.

Cheers for your help, so no fear that it will get worse and die?

I'm using it in my E3 at 24kHz, but i did not adjust the picture when i took the foto.

Not a game, but still an Arcade PCB. The monitor in my STATUS 18 recently started displaying some symptoms of a bad chassis... After exploring many options, I was fortunate enough to find a direct replacement. Behold: the Sanwa PM1723E! I'm pretty stoked about this get, as these things aren't easy to come by. I'll also feel a lot better about attempting to repair my old one knowing that I have a spare on hand. Big thanks to rancor who went above and beyond to help me make this happen!

Yeah, that Seimicom's Wyvern Wings: Space Opera was up for sale (and playable as well since it was set on 'Free Play') from Sacramento Amusements (based out of Sacramento, CA) at both 2003 & 2004 California Extreme shows. They offered CAX attendees the chance to buy a brand new WW conversion kit complete with a full-sized color marquee for $350.00. I was thinking about buying it over the two days it was offered for sale but passed it up. Currently, it's quite affordable in the $80-$100 range for a NOS Wyvern PCB conversion kit...a cheap-ass bargain these days. Gotta love the Strikers clone vibe it has going on.

I never understood most of the hate. My major gripe is on the space level, I love most everything else about the game.
