To my mind, yes, but it's also a lot poppier than some of their previous albums. I don't really have the authority to comment: It's my girlfriend who's the real Xiu Xiu fan.Kingbuzzo wrote:It's better than Knife Play?MX7 wrote:

I never cared for Tokyo Jihen over her solo stuff but this makes me want to check the album out. Thanks!Rob wrote:Tokyo Jihen - Sports -- Huey Lewis watch out. Following TJ/Shiina Ringo albums finally pays off with something nearly as good as Karuki Zamen Kuri no Hana.

Will have to check this out, cheersRob wrote:Tokyo Jihen - Sports -- Huey Lewis watch out. Following TJ/Shiina Ringo albums finally pays off with something nearly as good as Karuki Zamen Kuri no Hana.
To be honest, I really hated Xiu Xiu for years. I bought a few albums, but it wasn't noisy enough, and the lyrics and voice just plain annoyed me. Just not my kind of 'thing' at all. For some reason, over the last month or so, something happened to make me adore them. Today I've listened to Xiu Xiu 55 times, according to last.fm. So I'd definitely recommend coming back to them every so often to see if anything has suddenly changedprofessor ganson wrote:I don't usually like Xiu Xiu much, but I'll give this one a try since MX7 is on board with it.
It's a good 'un! Though I think Oi! Oi! Oi! is probably still the better album. Dunno. They're both surprisingly different.Jockel wrote:boysnoize-power.jpg
Agreed, MX7. Jockel, after you've worn out your Power CD, go buy Oi Oi Oi. I could honestly do without half of Power. Here is my track rating for it:MX7 wrote:It's a good 'un! Though I think Oi! Oi! Their previous release Go Forth was pretty pop oriented (as opposed to their first two albums anyway.) You should check it out if you haven't already. The Rome EP is good stuff as well.professor ganson wrote:

Will do! I've only heard a few albums, and this latest one is the first one I've listened to carefully.Jon wrote:Their previous release Go Forth was pretty pop oriented (as opposed to their first two albums anyway.) I've only listened to In C to any extent but I am looking to expand my collection, now I know where.professor ganson wrote:Finally got my hands on

Only 22 years after discovering Reich, I find these. Absolutely amazing stuff, folks.
I think I owe thanks to CMoon for these recommendations. I think he also likes shri camel best, but this is going on a memory from about a year ago.sjewkestheloon wrote:I've only listened to In C to any extent but I am looking to expand my collection, now I know where.professor ganson wrote:Finally got my hands on
