Yeah, when "tech god" Matt Ross was around on the old Shmups.com site, he used to preach the virtues of using an ATX PSU for his custom-made Superguns. The one I bought from him many moons ago, still works like a charm. Of course, those whom have dabbled in the arcade PCB scene for many years would say that it'd be better to use an arcade PSU (as some PCBs are quite finicky with the 5 volt issue...if set too high or too low & bam, you run into problems with the older mid-1980s type of pre-Jamma or early Jamma based PCBs).

Even the USA region Alcon PCB (aka Slapfight in JPN) requires a consistant 5.14 volts or else, you run into problems. And there's the bitchy & tempermental ST-V mobos to contend with -- if they don't get the right voltage, tend to get flakey really fast.

I still have my Matt Ross supergun. It was my 1st and only super gun still.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Not only does my supergun use a real arcade power supply, but everything is crammed inside of an old metal PC power supply. MY POWER SUPPLY HAS A POWER SUPPLY!!

Optical illusion / photoshop, there's no way that's legit.

Next you'll be suggesting that the boards get stored in antistatic bags.

I had one of those (non LCD model) previously, and it stopped working after about a year. Nice while it lasted though.

Hehe, no tate possible with this PJ (It's an Acer H5360). I've read somewhere (I guess in the Nvidia-Forums), that tate'ing would damage it.

But yeah, it is already a huge picture, no need to tate anyway.

(And RNG, I know you've been joking, but I answered anyway. *g*)

It was literally breathtaking. Despite the fact I could write an essay on all the faults I find with Wind Waker, I was surprised at my emotional connection with the game. Seeing Koji Kondo rattle off that piano solo at the end was magical.

I can't believe they completely ignored the Ballad of the Windfish though. No love for Link's Awakening.

I also bumped into fellow shmups.com member and Casino Royale team-mate MX7. That's three gigs we've crossed over now -- Joanna Newsom, Converge and Zelda. An unlikely combo if ever there was one. :D

I guess this kind of falls under PCB too, but whatever....finally got myself a Crazy Taxi cab!! 8) Great shape, cleaned it up over the weekend so now its pretty much spotless. Little bit of insert coin burn in, but only noticable on white screens, and it's a toshiba tube, so the picture is phenomenal!!

And yes, first thing I did was get some foam dice for it; tried to get a leopard print wheel cover but couldn't find anything small enough.

Super stoked!!!

Glad to hear you guys had a great time! Yeah, everyone's jaw dropped to the floor after that piano solo. Small world I guess with running into shmup folk at such an event.

The pedal board sticks out a couple feet. This way is better. Moved the apartment around a bit so now there is even more space.

So far I can get A class, but I only just realized there is a crazy boost, crazy drift and crazy stop special moves. 8)

I think I am 28th on my scoreboard.

yup. Not the greatest controller, looking at getting something with a better key-bed, but I love how simple it is. Makes a great master keyboard! Just wish it could do splits.

From left to right:

Radium 49
Moog Slim Phatty( the module thing behind the radium)
Novation K station
Alesis MMT-8 midi sequencer
Waldorf Blofeld(on top of the MMT-8)
Elka Rhapsody 490
Yamaha SK10

Also have a Crumar Roadrunner 2 not pictured.

Quite enjoying this setup. Great workflow and everything at hand. 8)

Decent parts actually, but will receive a parts upgrade sometime soon. Will be a PC or maybe a Supergun stick. I really dig the build quality of this.
