Okay guys, after a few hours I really start to enjoy Radigry and I finally got it's humor right. I think.

Just wondering about the whole background story. Does anyone of you know who that girl is, which character you control and such stuff?

Thanks for the updated impressions, nZero. I finally ordered my copy today from NCS.

While I don't have the game yet, I know her name is Tedayo and she is your navigator/mission announcer.

I'm not really sure why people care about stories in shooters. But here's what the manual says:

---------------------
The world was an age filled with radiowaves a handheld terminals. Kamigusa Shizuru was allergic to the radio waves and as such was inflicted with sneezing and itchy eyes.

In the midst of this a corporation was developing a so called "Special Radio Wave Allergy Medication" program, when suddenly their building was occupied by terrorists.

What's more, this was coincidentally the building in which Shizuru's father was working!

Shizuru got help from her partner Aita Tadayo, borrowed Terminal Suit Kojiro to ride in, and in order to save her father and the special medicine she challenged the terrorist group to a battle.
---------------------

If people really want I can type up the character descriptions and whatnot.

Thanks for posting this! Otherwise I wouldn't have a clue what the heck is really going on and why. Sorta makes sense now. :D

Second, cause I have to make a review out of it and I need as much info as I can get.

Well, I asked the question in the strategy board, and I guess I got it answered here. There's nothing keeping me from whoring out the ABS to be fully invulnerable for large chunks of level. Actually, from the sounds of how the scoring works it's actually encouraged.

I'd have to say that's my only complaint with the game. It's alot of fun, but dang it feels so wrong to be going through levels without having to worry about bullet dodging at the points where you might actually be afraid for your life ;P

Ah well, it's different, it's fun, and though the system is a bit odd, it works well for the game. Just a different kind of shooter that'll fit yet another kind of mood. I mean, if I really feel like I want to fear for my life, I have MORE than enough psycho-difficulty shooters to keep me occupied for months. I mean... I just picked up ESPGALUDA. I could be wrong, but I'd be willing to wager it'll take me alot more time to 1cc that than it did to 1cc Ikaruga. Mars Matrix won't be too bad, and Perfect Cherry Blossom on normal mode will be ALOT easier than I first thought. Then there's all the other shmups I own that are lower on the list of I want to 1cc, but still there.

Uhh... Sorry for the rant of off-topicness there at the end.

[edit - where did Kron's post go?]

Back to Radilgy...there's a piracy debate in off topic.

Can anyone confirm if they have the game working on a PAL or NTSC dreamcast through VGA? If so, are you using a bootdisc?

I'm desperate to buy this, but I'm VGA only (and PAL). Thanks.

I have a NTSC/J Dreamcast and it works perfectly with the VGA box. Should be the same with PAL Dreamcast then.

Thanks. Do you have to use a boot CD to play imports on your machine? If so, which one?

Actually max/DCS doesn't need a bootdisk as he said he has a japanese region Dreamcast already.
For a good bootdisk to play Japanese/US game on a PAL get the DC-X bootdisk! It's not too expensive has near perfect compatibility AND supports VGA output!

Good man.

Slightly more on topic, mod chipping a Dreamcast is butt simple. I did it hunched over on a tile floor w/poor lighting and tools. Just 4 solder points and it goes apart/back together like Lego's.

Am I the only one who thinks the sword mechanic as it is implimented in Rajirugi is obviously borrowed from Brave Blade? The whole hitting the bonuses to increase them clinches it for me.

Kind of interesting game so far, but not exactly a must-buy. I just hope that it can hold my interest til Under Defeat comes out.

Today I just recognized that you can beat a stage boss very fast when you kick his antenna with your sword. Every boss has it's own weak point. :)

Since you put it so nicely:

--------------------------

Characters
------------
Protagonist: Kamigusa Shizuru
Resident of downtown, 16-year-old, first-year high school student.
Although she is a normal girl commuting to a high school inside the city, she is pained by sneezing and crying due to the Radio-wave-isis.
Family is made up of: Father (45), Mother (43), Older Sister (19), Younger Brother (14)
"Ahh, my eyes are sooo itchy today... Heey, Eiko--, don't you have some kind of good patch for this?"

The Protagonist's Partner: Aita Tadayo
Friend's with Shizuru since middle school, good with PCs, Mecha and other things.
Around other people she has a habit of pushing her glasses up with her ring finger.
Though even Shizuru doesn't know the make-up of her family, it seems that her home environment is quite ecclectic.
"Hummmmm, this protection is strong, yes. Perhaps a different password.... ah, Lord Piiko how fortuitous. I want you to go buy me some cafe au lait"

The Enemy Leader: Mishima Ruki
Leader of the terrorist group UMBRA.
Does not laugh. Is unusually cold.
The reason she went over to the terrorists is appears to be somewhere in her past.
With her trademark boy's clothing and white dreds, there exists no one, even among the terrorists, who can touch upon this reason.
"Everything begins from this small terminal. The world, myself, the end, everyone... Could what I'm doing by wrong, mother. I don't know..."

--------------------------

So, someone wrote MORE of this crap, eh... If I'm really bored I'll take a look at the website.

The manual and in-game stuff is really bad. It took me one play-through to turn off the in game mail transmissions.

I suppose it does make for some better practice then some of the other stuff that people have asked me to translate.

I also like the game. Use your abs barrier on large enemies to get loads of green pills to fill your antenna.

Off-topic:
Hmm... that's a pretty interesting article. I'll see what I can do.

On-topic:
The antenna thing only seems to work on the first boss for me. Attacking the level-2 boss' antenna always results in my destruction. Too. Much. Spam.

Well, got my copy yesterday. I only was able to spend some time with it before bed so I have no idea how the ABS/scoring works yet. All I know is I really like the visual style and feel of the game so far. Also, the game did well for Milestone, Insert Credit reports that it was #1 in Akihabara for 2 days and they also updated with pics of the cover art for Genereic:

...and Precious:

...and new sample cuts from the soundtrack here:

Ya gotta love track #1's title "Radio Allergy." :)

So what are the basics of using the ABS system and the sword not to mention how it all connects to the scoring and the pills? I am pretty much completely in the dark on how to properly play it. :(
