I'm pretty sure it's literally the same disc as last time.

I'm opening my set now, so I'll look into it.

I think a few themes or player icons have been added, which have been missing from the last release.... but nothing important of course.

I can't read much Japanese, myself, which is why I was asking. But I think there's an issue with the DLC disc. I tried using it, and it only installed some of the content before giving me some error message. Piecing together what the Amazon reviews say, I'm guessing it's a problem with all copies.

No kidding. Annoying as hell that this is supposed to be this ultimate set for Cave fans, and it's busted. Well, I suppose it will be pretty sweet when replacement discs go out. But being overseas, it's going to be a huge hassle...

If its the same DLC disc as the original set, you can only select so many of the items to install at a time. If you select all of them it will fail. You can only do maybe 7 or 8 at a time if I remember correctly. And I doubt its something they would have cared to fix. (you have to install the 7 or 8, restart the game and count where you left off, its annoying)

Oh, that's all? Huh. Well, it's probably fine then, because it installed the first... I dunno, 7 or 8 things just fine. That's a relief.

I wonder what the message on Amazon's site is, then. It's something about the DLC...

Doing this worked for me. That was a relief.

It looks like there was supposed to be a newer disc, there is a piece of paper included showing how to use the disc and the background characters match up with the ones on the box, but the disc has different characters on screen which I assume are from the last collection's box.

It's a little ghetto. Did you notice that on the installation menu, there were only icons next to some of the items? I dunno if it was like that on the original disc, but uh... yeah. Lazy as hell, but it works.

It says there's a problem with the DLC disc and the case. No need to panic, though! Just call Xbox Japan customer support during business hours 10 AM - 6 PM Japan time and they'll let you know what to do.

I tried to get spec sheets for a couple of cokers (oil refinery equipment) that were built in Japan in the 1940s from the company (they still existed amazingly). I called, left messages, and faxed everyday for month, even though I realized it was night there (I am in California). I never got any acknowledgement that any message was received. I even had a friend write a fax in Japanese. I'm not looking forward to this endeavor. Maybe nin nin game or something will help out?

I tried calling the support line, and apparently, they don't even let you talk to support from outside Japan.

Anyone here, who happens to be in Japan feel like sorting this out for meager compensation?

:o You have to really call them up to get this sorted????????????

I have two of these sets which I just got shipped out via the 3 month boat method;registered mail from Nippon Yasan.....

I didn't even want these too much since I've concluded I'd rather play Cave via pcb, but thought I'd be a dumb ass if in the end, I either decide I want one for another 360 cave box set-up or better yet, to flip both for a premature double price increase estimation.

Thus, very very concerned here. :|

Amazon Japan sent me an email that provides slightly more detail, from what I can read. Though... I still can't quite tell precisely what it says:

Edit: Apparently, the "Kan" is missing from the box, which is what the issue is with that.

Doesn't sound like I can just work it out with Amazon, directly, either. Which is unfortunate.

Yea there's a typo on the box (I guess it's missing the "kan"?) and when you boot up the DLC install disc it's missing "kan" (meaning "complete" lol). You can return both and they'll put a sticker on the case to fix the error (lol). I don't know how they'll fix the DLC disc, though.

That's it ? None of the games nor DLC extra modes are missing then ?
Frankly I don't care about the box, missing 'kan' word, wallpapers or whatever useless shit as long as all the of actual playable content is there.

I wonder if the (presumably) fixed disc will alleviate the issue where you can only install a few things at a time off of it. In any case, I still kinda want to send that in. The box, I don't really care about. It looks nice enough, but I'm probably storing that in the closet, and keeping the game discs on the shelf.
