professor ganson wrote:I got mine today too. I love how different original and maniac are, and how relatively straightforward the weapon system is (I've always found Galuda's a bit cumbersome). I also like the restart button, but then the game pissed me off by saying something like "Let's challenge without the restart." F_ off!
Finally got your game Ganson, awesome.

Maniac mode is my fave too. And ya gotta love your beetle wingmen "trace" options. :)

Nothing for me yesterday. Mail usually comes later on the day so I might get my shit today. Got Dangun Feveron today (turns out Coin Op were being lazy and didn't ship it until three days after I made the payment!), but the screen is set for teh consoles in anticipation of Mushihime-sama anyway

Pads for shmupping goodness!?

Nothing for me today. Someone's fucking stolen my shit. There is no way it should take this long, ever. This only happens during Christmas, and even though the weather sucks ass around here these days, we're in early August!

Try formation instead of trace - it makes level 3 a lot easier to manage! All those annoying little enemies that stream in from the sides sniping at you? Problem removed with formation :)

Problem removed with formation :)
Yeah, but makes scoring a lot harder (for that stage especially).

I saw your high score, bloodflowers. I thought you said your skills have deteriorated? Well, if they have, they're still very good.

Maniac mode is incredible fun.
I wonder: Were these different game modes available in the arcade version as well?
I'm looking forward to trying arrangement tonight.

I believe that Original, Maniac and Ultra were all on the arcade version of the game, though Arrange and the rest were not.

That's what I thought, but I couldn't recall any good reason for thinking this. Thanks again, BulletMagnet.

bit of a question: according to my usps tracking number, the game arrived in grand rapids on the 28th of july. wtf?
I have no sig whatsoever.

I wrote them earlier today and all I got was the "please wait a bit longer" crap.

It's not their fault though, once they post it it's out of their hands!

They won't entertain any requests of this nature seriously yet. They do say that deliveries typically take 5-14 days, but can take up to 4 weeks, so they officially don't have to do anything until we're beyond this time period.

But I seriously think a lot of the confirmation emails they sent out on the 20th were bogus. I mean, MSD got an item first that shipped 5 days after Mushi supposedly did. It does seem fishy. Like him, I will definitely be checking the date on my package when it arrives...

I try Mushi out today:

BULLET PATTERNS ARE F***ING HARD!!!
BULLETS MOVES TOO FAST!!
ME NEEDS PRACTICE!
I CAN ONLY GET TO STAGE 2 RIGHT NOW!
AND ALL OF THIS IS ON ORGINAL!!
GREAT MUSIC!

The only thing I will bitch about the game is there is not enough extras in the game. Also, there is no Sound BGM menu (So I can just hear the music only).

Everything else with the game is great. Thank you Taito.

P.S.: 90% chance that Taito will screw up the PS2 port of Raiden III.

Well, gents, I just got mine today. I haven't been able to pop it in and play it yet, but you can bet I'll be on top of it as soon as I can.

I hope everyone else gets theirs today or tomorrow.

EDIT: I just noticed that the postmark on the package is the 25th... Hmmmm... :?:

Yay, I finally got settled in back in the US enough to hook up the PS2 and try out Mushi today. It's a well done port, but it's really hard to see everything that's going on in yoko... I -really- need to get a tate-able TV for this.

Also, there is indeed more slowdown in the PS2 version than there is in the arcade. Not much - but there are a few places where slowdown kicks in in levels 2 and 3 where there is no slowdown in the arcade. From the latter half of level 3 to the end of the game both versions are in perma-slowdown mode anyways.

I've spent quite a bit of time with Mushi tonight...

...and I'm loving it to pieces. I'm afraid I can only repeat what others have said already. Suffice to say, I've been spending most of my time with Maniac mode. But Arrange mode is pretty fun, particularly if you've been drinking a bit too much to play properly (like I have tonight  ).

Well worth the wait.

Exactly. I asked if they were just lying when they told me they'd shipped my stuff, but of course that part of the e-mail was never responded to.

I've lost a lot of faith in them if they have indeed been lying about shipping dates :(

At any rate, I've already decided to take all or at least the majority of my business to yesasia, cheaper prices, free shipping, no customs and quicker than play-asia airmail in most cases :)

P-A does lie about the shipping dates, they told me as much before. I ordered a game earlier in the year which never came (ended up getting a store-credit refund), and another which took FIVE WEEKS to arrive. For the latter, the date they SAID they shipped it was over two weeks earlier than the ACTUAL shipping date. When confronted with this evidence, they said their definition of "shipped" is they send it to their shipping center. However, they admitted to me that sometimes it can sit there for up to 1-2 weeks before it finally SHIPS out to you!!! I think that's the cause of all these delays.

Moral of the story, just don't shop at P-A anymore. I don't, I've moved my business to yesasia.com (NCSX is good too, as well as a few ebay sellers) and I'm much happier (even though they shipped out my game a few days late, but not too bad. And at least they ship from the USA).

Got my copies today. With import duties at $26 on the LE and a bit less on the regular edition. For some reason the packages were marked as MERCHANDISE and not SAMPLE as they usually are. I haven't paid for customs on stuff from Play Asia since SvC Chaos on the PS2 or Border Down LE. Whichever came out last.

The packages DID have dates matching the invoice I received per mail though. So the delay was probably because of vacation or something at the customs place in Denmark. Buttholes :P

I might try Yes Asia for Raiden III. Might as well, as I won't give as much of a damn about when it comes, since it'll be coming out right in the middle of my first month at university and I'll probably have other stuff on my mind at that time ;)

Good to hear your packages finally showed up Naiera. Looks like P-A didn't lie about your shipping date, which is good! Hope you enjoy the game, it's really great. :D

I'll have to set the arcade screen up for accepting the PS2 signal again (tried to set it for Dangun Feveron when it arrived the other day, but it didn't go so well and I was lazy), because I've decided with myself that it's not very playable in Yoko! It looks awful, to be honest. I'm gonna get me some Tate going and play it until I'm sick of it. Then it'll be Dangun Feveron's turn ;)

I agree yoko looks pretty bad in places, but it doesn't affect the playability even one bit. It's still more than possible to use the seemingly 1 pixel hitbox in the sea of spam some enemies create. Hope you like the game, you had to wait long enough for it ;)

Argh... the wait continues to kill me...

I know it's not P-A's fault though. KILL CANADA POST!! I know my games have been in my city since Jul.30. But WTF did I pay $30 USD for EMS shipping?? It's only supposed to take 2-3 days, and has now been a week.

I'll continue shopping at P-A from time to time, although like others here, I'll pre-order Raiden III at yesasia this time.
