Under Defeat HD
Re: Under Defeat HD
Who else is willing to bet this will be the final 360/PS3 retail shmup release, Akai Katana PAL aside?
Re:
You mean Wilhelmine Muller? Part of the issue is that the two characters are wildly disproportionate in relation to each other and they're overlapping. The whole image just looks off. I don't know why they didn't just use the stage 2-5 clear image.Limbrooke wrote:Grey (P2) also looks worse for wear. I'm surprised they wouldn't carry over from the DC LE as well. No matter, the regular looks fine.Kiken wrote:Cover art for both the standard and limited editions has been posted on G.Rev's main website. The regular edition uses the same image from the DC regular edition. The LE is a new design. It's very.... orange.

Nah, I think we'll get at least one more Cave port before the 360's lifespan is over.Estebang wrote:Who else is willing to bet this will be the final 360/PS3 retail shmup release, Akai Katana PAL aside?
Re: Under Defeat HD
I thought so too, but their latest report indicates otherwise.
Re: Under Defeat HD
As Estebang mentioned, seems unlikely given their recent financial report. However, I can see G.Rev porting Border Down to 360 and PS3 if UD HD sells well. Not to mention, I would think it'd be far simpler to adjust a horizontal 4:3 game to 16:9 (cause it's obviously going to have to include a wide-screen mode).Blackbird wrote:Nah, I think we'll get at least one more Cave port before the 360's lifespan is over.Estebang wrote:Who else is willing to bet this will be the final 360/PS3 retail shmup release, Akai Katana PAL aside?

Do you even play these games, or do you just rub your nub to Sony?Last_Dancer wrote:UD is on PS3, of course it will sell wellI can see G.Rev porting Border Down to 360 and PS3 if UD HD sells well

I'm pretty sure all he does after logging in is perform a search for the term 'PS3'. He then responds with any mindless fanwank he can pull from whatever orifice to threads/posts that come up.dunpeal2064 wrote:Do you even play these games, or do you just rub your nub to Sony?Last_Dancer wrote:UD is on PS3, of course it will sell wellI can see G.Rev porting Border Down to 360 and PS3 if UD HD sells well

Unfortunately I won't be able to play UD so I want to see Border Down for XBLA & PSN in 16:9.

Re: Under Defeat HD
That would be what I would really want...Border Down HD. Well, I want both of these in HD, but I like BD a bit better...despite not quite caring for the "border system". But it reminds me of G Darius, dammit...and that's enough!

Re: Under Defeat HD
I'm glad to hear this but why is it that most of the best shmups of this gen all seem to be 360 exclusive? Is this coming to PS3?
Re: Under Defeat HD
Oh no, not again...
Yes, it'll be on PS3.

Re: Under Defeat HD
What all comes in the limited edition of this. After seeing the cover I think I am going to pass on it and go for the regular. Unless there is something REALLY nice in the LE.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Re: Under Defeat HD
Yeah, the limited edition cover is pretty gross. It comes with a superplay DVD (based on INH's Soldier of Fortune release) and the redone soundtrack on disc.
Re: Under Defeat HD
Will this one be region locked on the 360?

Re: Under Defeat HD
I guess I'll try again, where are you guys preordering? I'm wondering what less expensive reliable sites are out there besides ncsx.

PS3 Under Defeat HD LE extras:
-"Kami Strategy DVD" (Arcade edition super play)
-"Super remix soundtrack" (by Yousuke Yasui)
Couldn't find any info about the 360 LE, but I assume it will get the same.
EDIT
More info from ncsx:
EDIT 2:
Sorry, didn't see Kiken's post on the previous page. NCSX is wrong and this is the LE cover. http://grev.shop-pro.jp/?pid=38487547

Well, I think the Dreamcast LE cover was a bit on the ugly side, so I'm not that happy to hear it. Maybe I'm not that big of a fan...NCSX wrote: The limited edition includes:
1) Kami ・ Strategy DVD*. Video of expert game play and HOW TO tutorial for the arcade version
2) NEW ORDER Soundtrack (temporary title). Rising game music composer Yosuke Yasui of Super Sweep, who worked on titles such as Mamoru-kun is Cursed! and Eschatos, brings his talent to make a renewed Under Defeat soundtrack!
3) Plus! Special Limited Edition box featuring an original illustration by character designer Nanashiki Yamamoto
Fans will also be happy to hear that the game package design of the limited edition will be based on the original Dreamcast limited edition design! We will be back in a few days with more details on the limited edition, Remix Mode and more!!
*The Kami ・ Strategy DVD includes re-edited footage used in INH's INSANITY DVD THE SOLDIER OF FORTUNE "UNDER DEFEAT" (published by TEAM ENTERTAINMENT, April 2011).

I am still wondering wich version is going to be most accurate. I am going to bet 360 will be the winer.
They have to make a Border Down HD port too.

Re: Under Defeat HD
AmiAmi.com has both versions of the limited edition available for pre-order for ~$90. Factor in shipping, you'll prolly save $10 when compared to NCSX. You'll prolly get it a lot later than if you went with NCSX though.
Re: Under Defeat HD
That LE cover is just awful. I per-ordered the LE on 360 and the regular on PS3. I might actually try to do a new cover for the 360 LE using classic DC LE artwork. Anyone got the DC LE artwork without all the logos? Preferably in a very high resolution.

Re: Under Defeat HD
Am I the only one who doesn't fancy a game cover that much?
I'm getting the beefier package because of the contents, I don't care about the cover art that much to be bothered by it.

Re: Under Defeat HD
I don't judge a game by its cover.

Re: Under Defeat HD
Whipped up something real quick during lunch. It’s not great, but maybe someone with better Photoshop skills could make a better one.
I know that part of one propeller is cut off and it’s missing the small NTSC-J at the top.

Re: Under Defeat HD
Alright, finally pulled the trigger on my preorder. Went with NCSX as usual.
I've somehow managed to have never played this game even once. I've heard plenty of good things so I'm confident I'll like it. In the past I may have avoided it due to its apparent simplicity, but after playing so many complex scoring oriented games I think I'm ready to enjoy something more straightforward. I figure if I somehow end up hating it I can count on this game in particular to hold its value as well.
Went with the LE. Even if the box is ugly I'm VERY interested in the arrange soundtrack. Is there any word on if we'll have access to an arrange soundtrack in-game as well? Despite not having played the game I have dug on a couple songs from it pretty hard. The DVD should be interesting as well, hoping it will play on my PS3.
