Actually, if the first post was ACCURATE, there would only be nine hours left. The discussion was up before, anyway, and Edge (like most other Europeans (yes, I am also European)) has 12am and 12pm switched around. So while it SAYS that it ends at 12am GMT (which is in the middle of the night), it actually ends at 12pm GMT (middle of the day).

This has been an announcement by your friendly European translator, Puky McMachan.

So what is it? 12am? 12pm?
Do I have until midnight or can I wait until the early morning session?

Note that it is 4.50pm GMT here. Monday 12am (midnight, about 7hrs time) or 12pm (midday, 19+ hrs time?)

The fate of the world (or my anime viewing at least) is in the balance. ^_-

It's midday, like I just said. There was a discussion about this, and it was decided that the weekly compo should end at 12:00 (yes, PM) on Monday instead of 23:59 (11:59pm) Sunday so that the dirty Amerikanz wouldn't be at a disadvantage with the week ending in the early afternoon or whatever.

hmm I guess you're right about the confusion after all.

Actually it would be more clear (no discussion would be possible) if it said 11:59 AM (ante meridium= before the middle (of the day)) or 11:59 PM (post meridium = after the middle (of the day)).

So Edge, please make it more clear by posting the end/start time like this.

There are ways of bumping your rank up high enough to allow higher scoring oppurtunities, while still keeping it low enough to allow you to progress safely. I already pointed you to a thread on shmupsforum earlier in the week which discussed the rank system of the game. You only need to look over the information once to work out the best way of doing this. ^_-

My team already know what the techniques are since we've discussed everything thoroughly the past week or so. Unlike our scores, I'm not at liberty to divulge our strategies and resources however. (Not until the end of the tournament at least.) ^_-

Well_I_just_messed_up_another_run_and_pushed_"Esc"_to_escape_the_game.
However_MAME_requires_to_confirm_the_exit_and_instead_of_pushing_Enter_I_accidently_Smashed_my_fist_on_the_keyboard.
In_the_next_moment_I_saw_lots_of_keys_flying_threw_the_air...

Would these resources happen to tell you how to get the angel bonus in the right spot for the 6th boss? If so, you have to tell.

rate-up angels appear from the first enemy you shoot after absorbing two blue gems without an angel on screen.

no worries. yeah, make sure you've collected at least two gems before that section. then damage the red craft for two charge shots, take out the turret thing above, and that should give you enough of a time window to kill it for the 6,400,000. but it's a bit different between ships.

I posted a bunch of links to different resources, one of which was Arcade Extreme's Blazing Star discussion with a nice little guide on medals, angels and factors that affect their in-game appearance.

I figured out how to do it myself. ^_-
jpj gave you the general idea, however. The technique to actually getting the angel to appear at the right time is a little more complex than that. ^_-

Like I said, jpj gave you the general idea regarding a rate-up angel's appearance. The main trick is to plan your medal pickups so that the next enemy you kill will be a rate-up angel. In this case that "next enemy" will be that underside fin of the huge red battleship.

I forgot which ship I used, because it was so ugly. I froze the screen somewhere around the ninth boss and kept leeching bonus medals from the overseer, but he had a minigun so it wasn't easy to stay alive...
