Correct, if it's big you can take the lid of the scanner and pan the image around. Just make sure that the scanner is not doing automatic colour compensations or anything.

Its about 2 meters by 80 cm. I think even with that technique it will be difficult to scan.

For the next installment of WOA R4 I need to get some screenshots from Dai-Ou-Jou.

I have the original super play from the PS2 but I was looking for a normal fan made one like those that can be found on super-play.co.uk.

If anyone has one to share please PM me. Alternalty if someone could supply me with 18 images of size 220x300 from Dai-Ou-Jou that would be very helpful as well.

This update will be an intermediate before R5 :D

Very nice website its great that you resurected it so that people can check it out. It would be a shame for something like that to die.

While we await the next major release I have put together a small bonus
namely a hi-res scan from of the PS2 poster of Dai-Ou-Jou (12Mb). The
scan was done by rtw with magical cleanup by Savory.

Now as with other items on WOA it makes a cameo appearance
but here is a small hint: http://www.world-of-arcades.net/Cave/Do ... pachi3.htm

:D

Now if someone could please write me an intro for Dai-Ou-Jou and Dai-Ou-Jou Black Label that would be brilliant!

Sounds cool. Where's the link to the 12MB of poster love?

One thing though. I know the Sheep generally wrote this stuff, and it would be nice to keep that in tact. BUT...

Titles should really not be be transliterated (don't get me started on the Guwange names). The original Donpachi is a bit of a pun. The sound is an otomotepia (how the fuck do you spell that?) of a revolver firing. The kanji are throw in to give it a bit of meaning (the bee one specifically). I'd always assumed that the "Do" for the sequel signified a game even harsher than it's predecessor.

Finally, while just about any dictionary will tell you that 'daioujou' means to die a peaceful death, there's a connotation that something has come to it's end, or "lived life to the fullest". There's a sense of accomplishment, I would say, whch is kind of hard to translate. Basically a baby cannot "daioujou". An old person can.

Just saw this page for the first time  . It's GREAT!

Is someone *looks at Icarus* still working on the Ibara related stuff? Would love to see an Ibara page up, for I'm spending hours and hours of time on this game.

www.world-of-arcades.net updated, R4

Post by rtw »

Just waiting for the last part to fall in place and then you will get the R5 update.

I thought of merging manual and instruction manual into one page. With
a kit picture at the bottom.

Only snag is I can't think of a proper name for this page ?

Instructions/Contents/Extras ?

Suggestions welcome :D

I have scanned the Marquee from Ibara, willing to do the same to the instruction sheet, I could also do screenshots from a couple of superplays or the INH.

I could also scan some bits from the Arcadia Mook / or the INH Mook?

I can probably whip out the DOJ story here soon. I'm going to translate some bits out of the DOJ:BL book that came w/ the DVD. Some interesting stuff. Someone finally asked IKD what his favorite game is (out of the ones he's made). Still not word on which ones he's cleared.

As for the scan... I really wish they would make a 2 meter poster of that and sell it at the next Cave Festival.

Story would be nice :D But I need an intro as well, along the lines
of the Mushihimesama one.

Don't keep us in suspense, what is IKD's favourite game ?

You can print out some posters of the scan (600DPI) and sell
them at the next festival :D

Yes please :D

The template can be found on Mushihimesama.

A small intro about the game, ideas designers and a system part.
No need to make the system as detailed as Mushihimesama but
one should try to emphasize the difference in the two versions.
