I've got that DVD after tracking it down on YAJ. Really good stuff, but Uotaro's movement soundeffect is really annoying. x_x
does the dvd have a cover?
if yes can you make a pic of it i want to know how it looks.
i tryed the cat today and you can realy get more discomen but doging is pain.
i just think about that and note that i don't have look on the tdm at the end of the stage.
maybe the run was with the cat? :?
don't know exactly because i lost with the cat 2 lives in stage 1 and don't realy care about the score.
so i can't say 100% it was with type b.
if i made it again i try to make a screen of the scoretabel of the first stage.

AFAIK, that isn't the real cover, there isn't one, or it was added in later batches. They were sold in colored DVD cases with the paper information insert. I know since I ordered directly from D-K (think that was his name).
also at the type b bomb video he bomb the stage bosses but i want to see how to doge them.

btw: congrats on you 1LC
Thanks CRI, I never had the confidence to no bomb the final attack of the stage 4 boss. Even if I had recorded the run, I used bombs on all the bosses but the first, because I wanted to get things finished after so many close attempts at the 1LC.
Are you still playing anything Venom? Or have you taken an extended leave of absence? It's been a while since I last saw you post on here. (Welcome back BTW ^_-)
I picked up Mushi when it came out, but didn't like it much. Other than a credit of Strikers or a Raiden game when I see them in arcades I don't play anymore. If Ketsui ever gets ported or emulated I'd play it, by far my favorite from Cave. Thanks for the welcome 8)

EDIT: Checked my inp files, a couple screw ups and one really ugly one that I actually remember doing. Didn't even get the extra life

Some more Dangun Feveron PCB ?'s...

Post by PC Engine Fan X! »

For Icarus,

Thanks for the 411 on my Dangun Feveron questions. Yes, I knew about Sheep's World of Arcades site but it was down due not renewing it's site lease. I have rtw to thank for bring it back up online. ^_~

And now for some more Dangun Feveron questions:

1.) How does one acitvate this so-called hidden "Reset" switch on the Dangun Feveron PCB during demo mode or gameplay mode?

2.) On the "Time Attack" mode, how does one uncover the hidden golden colored bar posts and what purpose to they serve? And are they uncoverable in the standard game mode as well?

Yeah man, what's up with that? After your Feveron feat you got rid of all your games and entered shmup rehab or something.

PC Engine Fan X!,

1 - hold down coin to reset the game at any point

2 - just hover over them, they will extend and then shoot them. Try it, it will make sense.

It was a few months after, looking back it was pretty silly to sell everything, could have kept it for some quick fun in RF Jet, Ketsui or Strikers 2. Stress from school, a girl, a friend's fall into alcoholism and other things were involved. Videogames weren't important.

I played for the first time in, well, I don't know how long, 18 months? Decided to record my fist coin for you all. Have a laugh as I start to stress out and forget things after the mid-boss of stage 2. Watch as I push bomb on the 3rd boss and nothing happens (damn keyboard). Then stress out and die somewhere in stage 4.

Enjoy, have a gaze at the rust. All the files are in here

Heheh, still better than what I can do. -_-;;

Anyway, to get the above replay working, make sure you put all the extra files in the correct places - .nv in the "nvram" folder, .cfg file in "cfg" and so on - and have the latest Feveron romset.

YES!!! I finally passed the 375 barrier for level 1! Just passed it with 381  :D I got a score of 286522. Damn, I've been doing nothing but play this game for 2 weeks straight, lol.

Now I shoot for 400...and eventually a 1cc for the game but that's going to be damn hard (especially cause of the last boss).

EDIT: It's 4am and I have 394 as my record so far...

EDIT: it's 7:30am and my new record is 319,784... 405 disco men!!!

There's many DF threads but no official one... This one looks like a good choice.

14 hours in and i'm still not sure if i just suck or if this game is insanely difficult. I can't wait until i can nomiss (maybe even nobomb!?) stage 2 - as it is i hardly ever even reach stage 3.

What's frustrating is that i can only enjoy this game when i'm in absolute peak mental form. If my reaction time is slightly below its maximum, i can noticeably tell, and i make no progress. This is generally true with all shmups for me, but much moreso with DF since it's so fast.

Normally i'm a fan of slow/medium-speed ships, but DF's high speed has quickly grown on me. In fact initially speed 4 seems absurdly fast, but now i find myself thinking "i wish there was a speed 5 or 6 ship option". Hmm i just read that uo-poko is faster than speed 4. Gonna have to try that! :D

You should bomb on the stage 2 boss unsane, the game will only let you store 4 bombs and the bonus is very small for going over that. Use a bomb on the stage 2 boss' green final attack - its annoying and the game gives you a 5th bomb early on stage 3. If you are still having trouble with the stage 2 boss don't milk the outer turrets and just concentrate on its core - its final form will have less health IIRC.

Have you watched a replay at superplay? If you play bomb type YMN's vid is very useful and javel has an inp over in the hi score thread for how to use roll.

Actually my only difficulty is both phases of the right turret's patterns. That just gave me an idea: maybe destroying the right turret first will be easier.

Mostly my problem is that every run something inevitably goes wrong. If i'm not fucking up somewhere random in stage 2, i'm getting a boneheaded death in stage 1. And if by miracle i do make stage 3, it isn't long before i get nervous and spam bombs instead of trying to learn it. I'm actually more relaxed once i've run out of bombs.

freddiebamboo wrote:Have you watched a replay at superplay?

Nah, if i study superplays/etc i start to hate the given game and get bored of it, forcing me to take a long break until i forget what i saw. I'm an exploring-type player so i don't get any satisfaction from following in other people's footsteps. Tho keep in mind i've only been heavy into shmups for 4 months, i'm just starting on classics that y'all have played for years. I may find superplays less irritating when my shmup career is much further along.

BTW i use Lock, since it's easier to focus on both scoring and surviving. I want to at least reach stage 3 easily before i mess with my ship type setup.

Edit: Yup, killing the right turret first is much easier, i can nomiss 1bomb him now, soon to be nomiss nobomb. :D I still fail miserably throughout stage 2 tho. :(
