Well, if that lineup is correct, and the games are excellent conversions, that's a killer pack, and I'd probably pay full price for it too (based on Strider, Varth & ST alone). I doubt they'll stick any online play on it but hey, this is definately what a dedicated gamer of my age (mid 20s) wants to see on these packs for a change, as opposed to 200 black & white Atari/Midway games over and over *yawn*
If it does turn out well, this will be Capcom crawling back to awesomeness after the hideous modernisation of Resident Evil 4, the lack of netplay on the Alpha Anthology, and the debacle of using the fucking Mega Drive conversion of Hyper Fighting for 360 Arcade! :X

Maybe so, I thought they were quite hard to find though? Midnight Wanderers original name was Roosters, nt Chariot.Kiken wrote:Because most people who know about those games already own the Saturn and/or PSX ports?~Kid Icarus~ wrote:In every thread of every message board I've seen this posted (only about 3 admittedly) no-one gets excited about Three Wonders, which is one of my all time favourite arcade games.![]()
WHY DOES NO-ONE REMEMBER MIDNIGHT WANDERERS!?!?!
WHERE IS THE LOVE FOR CHARIOT!?!?
WHY WAS DON'T PULL SO RUBBISH?!?!?!
So to conclude I wil buy this.
Wasn't Chariot's original title Roosters?
"But it is very cool that other people can now experience some games that didn't even come within 500 miles of their local arcades. Thank you Capcom!"
Actually, you're totally right. Its so easy to be pessimistic when a game you want doesn't make it
, but it is good to see these games given another round. I mean, I only bought the first CCC for Final Fight, but I ended up falling in love with at least ten other games, some I had never even heard of before!, easily.

Heh, I'd answer that if I knew what "TATE-filtered emulation" was
? The games seem perfect enough, and I didn't notice any thing wrong in terms of the emulation (though I have never played the originals...)
There are a few quips here and there (do we really need three Street Fighter II variants?), and I don't like the way they manage the high scores (if you change ANY setting in the game, whatever score you receive will be placed in the catagory "Custom," so high scores with the difficuly at 'Easy' and 'Very Hard' will be combined in the same table!). All that aside, the games are AMAZINGLY fun.

This collection is made up of CPS1 games. 19xx used the later CPS2 arcade board. Maybe we'll see a later collection of CPS2 games, though off the top of my head I can't think of many CPS2 games that are'nt tied up in other licences.Carmen wrote:News of 1941 definetly excites me, but where is 19XX!?

Actually, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo runs on the CPS 2 board.~Kid Icarus~ wrote:This collection is made up of CPS1 games. 19xx used the later CPS2 arcade board. Indeed it does, but a quick google search indicates that the version on this compilation will actually be Street Fighter II Turbo, which would make more sense.welcometoyourdoom wrote:Actually, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo runs on the CPS 2 board.~Kid Icarus~ wrote:This collection is made up of CPS1 games. 19xx used the later CPS2 arcade board. That doesn't make much sense at all since Street Fighter 2 Hyper Fighting is already in the first compliation. It's most likely Super Turbo that will be in the second Capcom Classics, not the original Hyper Fighting/Turbo. I have a feeling that Super Turbo may be some outsourced port and not the arcade one, though.~Kid Icarus~ wrote:Indeed it does, but a quick google search indicates that the version on this compilation will actually be Street Fighter II Turbo, which would make more sense.welcometoyourdoom wrote:Actually, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo runs on the CPS 2 board.~Kid Icarus~ wrote:This collection is made up of CPS1 games. 19xx used the later CPS2 arcade board. Side Arms is one of my favourite shmups period (which is one reason I'm especially looking forward to this collection), but the Before Christ -mode in Side Arms Special...gah. Horrible. You can't change weapons at will, your weaponry resets after each level, there are checkpoints instead of instant respawn...it's a very frustating experience. I think I got stuck in Stage 2 or 3 boss and just gave up on the whole thing.Turrican wrote:I wanted to buy Side Arms Duo - is the BC extra mode anything worthwhile?
Original Side Arms ftw.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Yes, Roosters was original Japanese name of Chariots shmup
For Kiken,
Yes, Roosters was the original Japanese name of the same game known in the USA as Chariots. The original Capcom powered CPS-1 Jamma motherboard PCB of Three Wonders was an arcade experience not to be missed. I do have the CPS-1 Three Wonders PCB myself. ^_~
As for the PCE/TG-16 ports of Sidearms in Hu-Card & CD-Rom2 formats, the real Sidearms arcade Jamma PCB is the one to own/play and does exists in two different Bios formats: original Japanese version from Capcom Co. Ltd. & USA version from Romstar.
The Japanese Bios version of Sidearms PCB is a tad bit different from the USA version in subtle ways: semi-animated extra title screen presented in JPN Bios ver. + # of games given per credit on dip switch settings actually gives more games per credit than on USA Bios ver. of Sidearms PCB.
I've always wonder what different about the original JPN Bios ver. of Sidearms PCB compared to USA Romstar version PCB of the same name.
My original Japanese Bios version Sidearms PCB provided me with the answers. ^_~
PC Engine Fan X! ^_~

Yeah, I just saw at SRK. With Sirlin at the helm, I have complete confidence in him holding true to his word. Of course, I'm not sure he or anybody else care that much about the other games but whatever. It's about time ST gets a good port. I'm even more pumped to getting this game when it comes out. No more fear of wakeup super from Dhalsim = gold.

That version of Final Fight is REALY fun! I tried it out on an emulator out of curiousity, and had a blast! Great game.sjewkestheloon wrote:am i the only one looking forward to the gba pack? i love strider and final fight, and i've never player the altered version of final fight or bionic commando. sounds like a lot of fun for a little dollar.
This is excellent news!!

The only thing that worries me at this point is that this game already has a release date, in October, for Europe, but no exact release date for the US-which sounds eerily familiar to Taito Legends 2.

I'll be buying the compilation just for those 6 titles alone!PFG 9000 wrote:Here's the list of games included:

For the vertical shooters, I hope they'll add a stretched Panorama Yoko mode like Raiden Project on the PSX.
On a side note, the CAPCOM CLASSICS COLLECTION REMIXED on the

Can anyone tell me what games these are? The vertical space shmup looks especially intriguing. Also the one with the boy with a sword and the treasure chest.

The d-pad really frustrates me for the shmups on this collection; I've stopped playing them, in fact. The mix is still worthwhile for the platformers.ASK wrote:Any idea how well shooters play on the PSP? That's part of the reason why I am getting this collection for the PS2; you can use the Street Fighter Anniversary Controller with the first collection, so it will probably work on the second.professor ganson wrote:The d-pad really frustrates me for the shmups on this collection; I've stopped playing them, in fact. OT, there was a photo in an issue of EGM this year of a PSP D-Pad with a quarter taped over it-the owner was so frustrated with the PSP's D-Pad that that's what they decided to do. It worked, evidently, and didn't damage the system.
