Solar Eclipse... was that released on the 3DO? I have it on the Saturn and is very similar (almost exact) to Total Eclipse.Neo Rasa wrote:The original Solar Eclipse is also quite good.

I never played Starblade Alpha, but 3DO Starblade offered a fun yet very short game play. I don't recall the game lasting more that 1/2 hour from start to finish. Visually it was impressive for the time period.dave4shmups wrote:I wonder how the 3DO port of Starblade compares. And how is the first Star Wars: Rebel Assault? The second on the PS1 is horrible!
I just got my latest issue of EGM, and the 3DO port of Road Rash actually made it onto their Top 200 Games of All Time list! They quoted Trip Hawkins as saying that if Road Rash had come out earlier for the 3DO, that the system might have done better! I have doubts about that, but, in any case, it must be quite an awesome port of the game!
I almost listed Rebel Assault as a shooter. Game play was slow and most graphics had that "grainy" look (especilly in the canyon levels).
I loved Road Rash. I don't believe any sequel have ever approched the greatness of the 3DO version. They (EA) definitly needs to revive Road on Xbox360 or other nexgen hardware.

I don't beleive so-I couldn't find any listing for it on Gamefaqs, or on a 3DO-specific site that I found.Game Rogue wrote:Solar Eclipse... was that released on the 3DO? I know it got a CD-i release, though.

sorry this is off topic, but...
in no way was Samurai Shodown on 3DO an 'arcade-perfect' port of the NEO-GEO arcade game. the only version that is really arcade perfect is the NEO-GEO home cartridge version and maybe the NEO-GEO CD version.
back on-topic. 3DO was not a machine that had many (if any) traditional shmups, horz or vert but did have quite a few decent 3D-ish shooters like Total Eclipse.
And to dispel another myth, ST is nowhere near an arcade perfect port on the 3DO as many claim and is completely unplayable for a tourney unless nobody uses O.Sagat. None of the old characters are included, which makes a huge difference for some characters (esp. for Sagat with his 4 frame Low Tigers and Dhalsim with his limb attacks based on distance rather than choice).
